Uyo Senatorial District Leaders Forum plans to secure 2nd term for Udom
Uyo senatorial District leaders forum in their general meeting at the weekend  has inaugurated committee to makes plan against 2019  to speak with one voice for an Ibibio son to ensured he maintained his seat as the governor of Akwa Ibom State for eight years. 

The meeting which was a clarion call fish out prominent political leaders in Ibibio to fill avoid to meet and plan the inauguration of Ibibio political leaders council as the special purpose vehicle to galvanize Ibibio politicians and speak with one voice in the common interest of Ibibio nation, and to resolved to bury our differences and unite as one to ensure that Ibibio son deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel is celebrated and secures a second term come 2019.

Speaking the leader of the USDLF, prince peter Atakpo in his speech during the meeting said that this forum is demonstrated the spirit of oneness, togetherness and a rise to greatness in Ibibio nation in the history of Akwa Ibom State. “We speak with one voice under the platform of Ibibio state union and the rest of our past heroes. He added that the fundamental objectives of the group was to achieved unity, social harmony, justice and liberation from social or economic oppression because if we are unite together we shall be able to do great things’’.

Obong Atakpo explained that the DAKKADA Initiative launched by the Governor Udom which some people viewed it in many ways, saying that in their forum is a clarion call to raise up to claim our rightful place as Akpan in the state. To eschew social ills like spite and strife, jealousy and slander, opposition and discord, disunion and segregation.


He maintained that their gathering reminds them to engage in the luxury of setting on the fence or struggling our shoulders and asserting Nsi Mbehe, he noted that this is a time to raise from the dark and desolate valley of individualism to the sunlit path of togetherness and brotherhood, to disproof our detractors that we are not in war with our selves but in love with each other.

He said we must be our brothers keepers  and we must not be satisfied as long as our brothers and sisters in Ikono/Ini of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District and our folks in Ikot Abasi, Mkpat Enin and Onna Local Government Areas or kindred of Eket and Esit Eket for that matter in Eket Senatorial District are not treated well in the state.

We say no, we will not be satisfied until justice roll down in equal measures from the heart of Uyo city to the undulating planes of Ikono our cradle and from the rich seashore of Ikot Abasi to the busy beach of Uruan Local Government Areas. After-all what is good for the goose is also good for the gander.

Highpoint of the event was inauguration of committee and induction of prince Attah as member of the group.
