DAKKADA: Esit Eket PDP Chieftain champions philosophy

DAKKADA: Esit Eket PDP Chieftain champions philosophy
BY ASSAM ABIA

The DAKKADA mantra and philosophy of Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel is spreading like wild fire in Esit Eket Local Government Area, courtesy of a Chieftain of the People Democratic Party (P.D.P), Elder Assam Harry James.

The young patriot, a native of Ekpene Obo, Ward 1, in Esit Eket and Councillorship aspirant in the forth-coming Local Government election embarks on sensitization seminar from village to village to drum home the meaning and importance of the DAKKADA mantra.

In a well-attended seminar organized by Elder Assam for youths of Ekpene Obo in Esit Eket on Sunday, the resource person, Dr. Michael Asyndy, a medical practitioner based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State reminded the participants that DAKKADA is not an organization or a political group but a call to all Akwa Ibom sons and daughters to rise to the faith of greatness.
Dr. Asyndy called on the youths to embrace the clarion call to discover their innate qualities for extraordinary breakthroughs in life.

“We can become whatever we want in life if only we sit up and be positive in our endeavours. We have to shun the pull-down syndrome, we have to be our brother’s keeper and encourage what is good”.

“Dakkada is a call for us to look inwards and believe in ourselves, every obstacles or challenges we face should be seen a catalyst for greatness, above all, we should be morally upright and give respect to our elders and leaders”, Dr. Asyndy said.

In his speech, Elder Assam Harry James said he had to organize the Seminar because not a few people misunderstood the meaning of DAKKADA and that the conceptionist of the idea, Governor Udom Emmanuel must have seen that the people of the State must have gone off the track of their ancestral traits and greatness, hence the ideology.

He commended the political leader of Esit Eket, Elder Benjamin Udobia for giving the people a crystal political direction and has brought the area to the mainstream of governance in the State.

“We must respect and obey our leaders if we want to have any breakthrough in life, if we must criticize, it must be done with decorum and respect, nothing is impossible, we can develop ourselves to any height in life if we sit up and follow the golden rules of life, therein lies the philosophy of Dakkada”, Mr. Assam said.

He congratulated the Chairman, Esit Eket Transition Committee, Hon. Iniobong Robson Nnamso and all members of the committee for their well-deserved appointment and applauded the Transition Chairman for his commitment to youth development in the area.
