As the 2015 Presidential election in Nigeria continues to gather momentum, a frontline socio political organization in the country, National Coalition for Jonathan/ Sambo Presidency, has inaugurated the Akwa Ibom State chapter of the group.
DE BOMB paper can report authoritatively that the event which was held at 98 Nsikak Eduok Avenue, Uyo attracted dignitaries from all walks of life. Some of the top notch who attended the event were Alhaji Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi, Former Executive Governor of Zamafara State and B.O.T Chairman of the group, Rear Admiral Godwin Siempre Aye Ombo. (Rtd), Hon. Frederick Umoren, AGA, DG, NACOJSP, and the South South Zonal Secretary, Dr. (Barr) Effiong Osung amongst others.
In his remarks, the Chairman on the occasion, Rear Admiral Godwin Ombo Rtd, commended the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the coalition for their resolve to mobilize for re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo.
He said that all Nigerians have their roles to play in ensuring that the duo are reelected into the presidential villa stating that it is better for Nigerians to sacrifice now so that generations yet unborn can be free of poverty. Ombo stated that despite the security challenges bedeviling the country, President Goodluck Jonathan has reformed the Nigerian economy.
“There has never been any president that has gone through the challenges that he is going through yet he is still engineering this kind of progress. “If these challenges were not there how much will he have done? It is on this note that I urge you all to take it as challenge and pay the sacrifice now so that in the near future, our children, and grand children will come to benefit from the fact that we are all Nigerians.
“We are all here to bring him back into the presidency so that he can complete his eight years in office and complete the transformation agenda for our people so that our children will not pass through the pain we are going through today.
“We are here to inaugurate the Akwa Ibom State Chapter members and we enjoin you all to support and work with them” Real Admiral Ombo urged Akwa Ibom people.
The Director General, National Coalition for Jonathan/Sambo Presidency (NACOJSP), Hon. Frederick Umoren, ACIA in his goodwill message to the state chapter disclosed that out of 2,600 support groups in 2011, NACOJSP remains the only group that survived and supported Mr. President and his Vice in office untill today.
“We remain the first and only group to write a presidential book titled, “The Jonathan & Sambo Presidency. “On April 10th 2014, we scored another first by mobilizing over 500 youth wing members of this great body, to the National Headquarters of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party to make one fundamental demand- an automatic ticket for Mr. President to run, unchallenged for a second term in office. “As we are all aware, on 18th September, 2014 the Board, the NEC and NWC of the biggest the ruling and the most vibrant party in Nigeria and Africa, unanimously endorsed that request by giving an automatic ticket to our dear president to run for a second term in office and from that day, our joy , our fulfillment and indeed, our gratitude to the Almighty God and our great party leaders, has known no bounds” Umoren enthused.
He charged the inaugurated members to count themselves lucky and very special to belong to such a great political group.
The zonal Secretary of NACOJSP, Dr. (Barr) Effiong Osung, while inaugurating the state and chapters’ executives charged them not to allow their personal interest to influence their official conduct urging them to always to do good to all manner of people without affection or ill will.
Presenting an address, the State Chairman of National Coalition for Jonathan/ Sambo Presidency, Dr. Innocent Idiong, Stated that President Jonathan’s administration has performed above average in handling of the Nigerian economy at all levels.
He said that Mr. President knows that the master key to the economic emancipation of the nation is the small and medium scale enterprises (SMES) “Mr. President has thus mandated the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to commence the disbursement of a 220 Billion Naira support fund to that sector. Globally , the bedrock of great economics is the SMES with an average GDP potential of 47 percent according to a World Bank report.
“Today we are glad to be part of the President Jonathan /Sambo presidency winning team. We urge you all to hold fast to the belief in this president and stand by him, especially all those who committed their time and resources to this enterprise” Dr. Idong pleaded Akwa Ibom people.
