AGGEN makes case for Udom governorship

Ahead of 2015 general elections, the President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, the State Governor, Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio, CON, and the Secretary to Akwa Ibom State Government, Mr. Udom Emmanuel have been endorsed by the Youths of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Comprising of the ten Local Government Areas of the District under the aegis of Akwa Ibom Good Governance Network (AGGEN) to contest election to the office of the President of Nigeria for a second term, represent the people of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District in the National Assembly and the Governor of Akwa Ibom State respectively. 

The Youths of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District made the endorsement on Thursday, 2nd October, 2014 at the Ikot Ekpene Township Hall in a well attended ceremony which was preceded by a carnival float from the headquarters of the four Federal Constituencies of the Senatorial District beginning from Ukanafun for the people of Ukanafun and Oruk Anam Local Government Area, Abak for Abak, Etim Ekpo and Ika Local Government Areas, while the carnival float took off from Ikono for the youths of Ikono and Ini Local Government Areas and all assembled at Ikot Ekpene floating around the main roads and street within the metropolis in solidarity and support to President Jonathan, Governor Godswill Akpabio and Mr. Udom Emmanuel despite the heavy down pour of the day organized by Akwa Ibom Good Governance Network (AGGEN) to celebrate Governor Godswill Akpabio for his good governance to the people of Akwa Ibom State in the past seven and a half years and the public presentation/launching of the book ICON OF TRUE LEADERSHIP authored by a member of the Akwa Ibom Good Governance Network (AGGEN), Mr. Emmanuel M. Udoh.


In his address, the State President of Akwa Ibom Good Governance Network (AGGEN), comrade Sylvester Ebong said that the celebration of Chief Dr. Godswill Akpabio, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State was premised on the much heightened sense of gratitude and appreciation which is quite rare and unpopular in our society, the perfect understanding of the fact that whatever is appreciated appreciates in size, worth and value hence our gathering to tell our Father, Leader and Elder brother, His Excellency, Chief (Dr.) Godswill Akpabio – “Thank You”.

The state President of Akwa Ibom Good Governance Network, Comrade Ebong enumerated the cardinal objectives of the group to include, Recognition, Acknowledgement and Celebration of creditable, exceptional and excellent leadership expressions by outstanding selfless and society-impacting leaders of our state to encourage them to do more and at the same time inculcating in our people that hallowed spirit of gratitude for the greater Good of our society. He thanked the representative of the Governor and Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem, Special Adviser to the Governor on technical matters, Engr. Etido Inyang, member representing Ikot Ekpene. Obot Akara State Constituency, Obong Nsikak Ekong, Chairman, State Secondary Education Board, Uyo, Dr. Maria Ikorok and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Power, Dr. Victor Udoh for their support to the organization.

Comrade Ebong said on the account of the unbeatable track records and quality performance of the State Governor, Chief Akpabio, the President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and in accordance with the aspiration and objective of the organization, the youths of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District through voice votes unanimously endorsed the trio to contest the 2015 General Elections in a motion moved by the Co-ordinator of Akwa Ibom Good
