Rt Hon Samuel Ikon, Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has been nominated by Commonwealth Parliamentary Association into a strategic team expected to work out modalities aimed at presenting a consensus candidate to fill vacant positions during the 60th CPA conference to be held in Cameroon.
A letter signed by the Regional Secretary, Dr. Thomas D kashililah also listed Hon. Request Muntanga from Zambia, Hon Benjamin Bewa-Nyog Kunbour from Ghana and Hon Beatrice Shellukindo of Tanzania as members of the team expected to network with other traditional allies of Africa in order to come out with consensual candidates.
According to the letter, the decision to raise this small team was taken on June 16, 2014 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania during the meeting of the Coordinating Committee of CPA African Region to discuss where vacant positions.
