We will deliver ring road II and III on time and with quality – QUMECS
A visit to the road construction site of Ring Road II and III which was awarded Qumecs Nig Ltd, recently by His Excellency Gov. Udom G. Emmanuel has confirmed a thorough work in progress. 

Interacting with the project manager of the site, Engr. Mohamed Allaf, the Syrian confirmed to our reporter that with the pace at which work was executed on the project, the road will be ready for motoring on the stipulated time according to the contract as he revealed the agreed time to be 24 months and 18 months respectively. 

Taking us into more statistics about the company, the Project manager who spoke on behalf of his MD, Engr. Azam Umar thanked the State Governor, His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel and entire people of Akwa Ibom for the opportunity to execute the Job as he revealed that Qumecs Nig was known for quality Jobs and timely delivery having constructed well over 2000 km of roads successfully in Nigeria.


“My MD is a very experienced person in the Job, we have delivered over 2000 km of roads in Nigeria, on behalf of my MD, we appreciate His Excellency the Governor and the people of Akwa Ibom for the Opportunity and I assure you, we have already set the modalities to deliver on time and with the best quality. We have done this in several places before now, its not our first time, so we will deliver”

Reassuring the people of the quality of work to expect from Qumecs, the PHD holder revealed that the Civil Engineering and construction company has been working in Nigeria for 35 years now and that particularly for this ring road II and III constructions, the MD has in his team, professionals and experienced Engineers drawn from separate projects in the western world to secure the quality needed on the road which he described as very high, expensive and elastic.

In his words “we had mobilized to site immediately we had the authorization, our Asphalt plants and escavators have arrived, our workers are up to the task and happy about the Job, my MD has in his team for this Job, professional and experienced Engineers who have worked in Dubai and the USA so that we deliver the stipulated quality”

Mr Mohamed who also has had 35 years working experience said that a quality road is that which after construction must withstand pressure for at least two decades before any maintenances could be expected   

 Speaking on Cooperate Social Responsibilities (CSR) commonly known giving back to the society, the Public Relations Officer, Qumecs Nig, Mr. Cyril Anderson said that the giant construction firm was at the verge of ordering for trucks (Tipers) to give out to the indigenous contractors in the community who would use the trucks to service supplies on the site while the cost amount of the trucks will be deducted daily from their services over two years whereby at the end of the contracts and deductions the citizens/ suppliers will become proud owners of the trucks. 

He also said that the company is looking at building an health centre and a school for the community aside the 40% local content on both skilled and unskilled labor the company shares among citizens of their immediate area. Mr. Cyril who appreciated the State Governor and the MD, Qumecs Nig also made it known that the company will duplicate these gestures for any community in which they execute any contract in Akwa Ibom State.

Quemecs Nig thanks the people of Ibesikpo LGA, its environs and Akwa Ibom at large for the peaceful atmosphere granted them to perform.
