...as Directorate of Marketing and Brand Management takes impact awareness campaign to rural areas

The people of Ikot Ekpene, Eket, and Uyo Senatorial Districts in Akwa Ibom State have expressed total satisfaction with Governor Udom Emmanuel’s performance in office as Governor since 2015 and have equally assured the Governor of their total support in his second term ambition in 2019.
Elders and stakeholders from the three Senatorial Districts gave the guarantee during the just concluded Government Projects Impact Awareness Campaign hosted by the Directorate of Marketing and Brand Management, Office of the Governor, in the three Senatorial Districts of the State.
In Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, the 10 Local Government Areas that makeup the Senatorial District assembled on Thursday lastweek at the Etim Ekpo council Hall for the interactive town hall meeting.
In her introductory speech, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Research and Public Relations Mrs. Lydia Udoh noted that the dream of every leader is to lead his people from where they are to where they are supposed to be. She said that the Governor in the past two years have committed himself in ensuring that Akwa Ibom people are taken to the promised land through life touching projects seen all over the State.
She said “The task of every leader is to get his people from where they are to where they ought to be and in Akwa Ibom State we have a leader that is desirous of attaining uncommon success that will surpass the expectations of his people and he has done this by setting up a pattern that will articulate all his dreams and aspiration for the people of Akwa Ibom State.
She added that every Akwa Ibom person is proud of what the Governor has achieved in just two years stressing that the governor has been able to implement his five points agenda across all parts of the state and that the Governor has made the people his major focus.
She said “Today in Akwa Ibom State, we are proud of a leader who has graciously developed and brought a great agenda for Akwa Ibom people and that leader is no other person than our dynamic Governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel. The past two years of his administration has been anchored on his five points agenda which are job creation, wealth creation, poverty alleviation, economic and political inclusion and of course Industrialization.
The Governor’s aide added that the visit became imperative because there is great need to engage the people closely and inform them of Government’s achievements and plans for the people in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial Districts and also hear their problems if any. “So we in the Directorate of Marketing and Brand Management, Office of the Governor with the kind approval of the His Excellency have invited you here today to reach out to the great and good people of Ikot Ekpene senatorial District at a close range, to communicate and share with all you today government’s programmes, project, plans and achievements since this administration started”.
In his visual presentation, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Branding and Marketing, Mr. Sam Edoho highlighted the numerous projects executed by Deacon Udom Emmanuel in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District to include Emergency Hospital and a Quarantine Centre in Ikot Ekpene, 6.4km Ntoedino road with Breach which is at 80 percent completion which when completed will help the people of Obot Akara market their goods easily. Cocoa and Rice production in Ini Local Government Area which when completed will make the state the highest producer of Cocoa.
Other projects enumerated by the Governor’s aide are, 16km Ikot Ibritam-Enen Afaha road, 14km Odoroekpe- Arochukwu road, prompt payment of salary throughout the state and a host of others.
In their various goodwill messages, the elders of the senatorial District made it clear that they are satisfied with the leadership style and achievements of the State Governor and resolved to support the Governor in 2019 Governorship election.
Speaking on behalf of 9 other Transition Committee Chairmen in the Senatorial District, the Transition Chairman of Etim Ekpo Hon. Udeme Ekpo commended the team for choosing his local Government and pledged that together with his members the entire Senatorial District will stand with the Governor in the next General elections.
The Political Leader of Etim Ekpo Local Government Area, Hon A. S. Akpan also promised to support the second term ambition of the Governor saying that the Governor had perform Excellently since he assumed the position. He lauded the governor for being and honest and God fearing man.
Others who also threw their weight behind the second term bid of the Governor include Barr Emmanuel Enoidem, Commissioner for youths and Sports, Hon Monday Uko, the Paramount of Etim Ekpo, HRM Prof. Amanam Udo, DIG Ekpoudom, representative of the Youths, women and Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
The second day of the visit saw the team visiting Eket Senatorial District yesterday to also engage the people on the achievements of the Governor so far in office. The Unity Hall in Mkpat Enin Local Council Secretariat was filled with youths, women, political stakeholders and Traditional Rulers from the 12 Local Government Areas that make up the Senatorial District.
The Transition Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, Lady Ekaette Usip together with other political heavyweight from Eket Senatorial District turned out en masse to welcome the team to their senatorial District.
Setting the tone for the day’s meeting, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Research and Public Relation, Mrs. Lydia Udoh described the meeting as a homecoming since Eket Senatorial is the home of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
She informed the crowd that the Governor has been committed to serving Akwa Ibom people diligently and with the fear of God since he was sworn into office in 2015.
The Special Assistant to the Governor on Branding and Marketing Mr. Sam Edoho in his presentation took the people through the many projects scattered around each of the Local Government Area under the senatorial District. In Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, Mr. Edoho listed some of projects executed by the Government to include the Awa-Iman -Asong-Ikot Edim road with two bridges, the coconut Refinery.
Other projects situated in the senatorial district so far are, 29KM Etinan- Ndoneyo dual carriage way, the Urbanization and Development of Eket into a modern City, Construction of Eket -Etinan road, Mkpok-Otat road (Completed), dualization of Eket -Ibeno road, Agric Lane, post office road, Completion and upgrading of urban roads in Oron and other life touching projects. He added these projects are not the last to be initiated and completed the Governor but assured the people that more life touching projects will come to their door steps.
In their various Goodwill messages, the people of the Eket Senatorial district commended the governor for his superlative performance in just two years of his administration and collectively promised to stand with the Governor in his second term bid.
The Paramount ruler of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, HRM Akpanakpan Ekpene lauded the office Directorate of Marketing and Brand Management, Office of the Governor, for the programme which he said has helped those in the rural area to know what the Governor has done since 2015 which before now were not known. He pleaded with governor to construct more roads in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area especially the Abak-Ekparakwa- Ikot Abasi Road and the road linking Ibekwe and Ikot Akpaden.
The rural father promised the Governor that the people of Mkpat Enin will queue behind the Governor in 2019.
The Transition committee Chairperson of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area Lady Ekaette Usip in her speech thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for the numerous projects carried out by the present administration. She pledged the commitment of her people to the second term bid of the governor while also commending His Excellency for the numerous projects in the Local Government.
Others who spoke glowingly of the Governor’s performance during the town hall meeting include, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political and Legislative Affairs, Rt. Hon Ekong Sampson, the Member Representing Mkpat Enin in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Engr. Otobong Ndem, The Vice Chairman of PDP Eket Senatorial District, Hon. Mfon Nkanteen, PDP South South Publicity Secretary, Mr. Eric Ekwere, the PDP Chapter Woman Leader of Mkpat Enin, Hon. Ekaette Philip, the Transition committee Chairmen of Ikot Abasi and Eket Local Government Areas.
To round off the Government Projects Impact Awareness Campaign tour, the Directorate of Marketing and Brand management team visited Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area on Monday to sensitize and present the scorecard of His Excellency Deacon Udom Emmanuel in the last two years to the people of Uyo senatorial District.
The Special Assistant to the Governor on Research and Public Relations Mrs. Lydia Udoh informed the people that the Governor is committed to reducing the povertofrate in the state, Industrialization of thecwhoke state, wealth creation for all Akwa Ibom people and making life better for the entire state. She said that the Governor has in just two years achieved a lot while in office.
Mr. Sam Edoho, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Marketing and Branding with aid of a project took the guests around the numerous ongoing, completed projects of the Governor in Uyo Senatorial district since 2015.
Some of projects enumerated by the Governor’s aide which the Governor has so far undertaken so far includes, total Renovation of General Hospital Etinan, Idiaba Ndah- Ukot Abasi road, Ibom Specialist Hospital, Youth Development and Sports Center in Itam (Completed) Renovation of St. Luke Hospital Anua with equipments, Metering Solution company. Construction and Completion of 1KM information Drive, Akwa Prime and Hatchery in Uruan, Payment of WAEC fees for Students in Akwa Ibom State, free Education for Akwa Ibom State, AKEES pencil and tooth pick, Power substation at 4 Lanes, Uyo, training of many youths outside the country in various skills and other signature projects.
At the state level, projects listed which the Governor has embarked upon include the Coconut Refinery, tax way at Ibom International Airport, women empowerment, Distribution of improved Cassava stem to farmers, building of houses by the wife of the Governor Deaconess Martha Udom Emmanuel for widows and less privileged.
Barr Ukana Udofia, the Transition Committe Chairman of Ibesikpo Local Government Area while delivering his Goodwill address on behalf of other council chairmen expressed joy and satisfaction at the performance of the Governor for past two years. He described the Governor as a prudent financial manager that has been able to manage the little resources that comes into the state.
The Commissioner for Special Duties, Housing and Urban renewal revealed that Governor Udom is serious about governance and has promised not to let the people if the State down.
Hon. Linus Nkan the commissioner for Finance commended the Directorate of Marketing and Brand management for coming up with the great idea of taking the projects so far executed by the governor to those in the hinterlands. He averred that Governor Udom through his prudent management of resources has succeeded in making Akwa Ibom state envy of other states.
In his vote of thanks Mr Ime Uwah, Special Assistant to the Governor on Branding and Marketing, thanked the people of Uyo Senatorial district for coming in their large numbers to grace the event. He said the Governor has performed in the first two years of his administration to the satisfaction of all and as such the people will surely vote again for me in 2019.
A short drama illuminating the achievements of the Governor and a ballad chronicling the Governor’s several projects were presented to the admiration of the guests.

The immediate past Speaker of the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Aniekan Uko in goodwill remarks said that Governor Udom will not have any problem in Uyo Senatorial because already the governor has proven to be a promise keeper and a God fearing man.
“In Uyo Senatorial District we will not have problems, because we have vibrant lawmakers that are representing their people well, beginning from Mr. Speaker who is the number one lawmaker in this senatorial district. I commend Governor Udom Emmanuel for the construction of Idiaba - Ndah Ukot Road linking Ibesikpo Asutan and Nsit Atai, the road His Excellence, Gov Udom Emmanuel promised us when he came here to campaign.
Others who spoke at the event include Hon. Uwem Ita Etuk, Obongawan Grace Udoh, the representative of the Paramount of Ibesikpo, the Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uyo Senatorial District and other political heavyweights.
