As stated by a renowned philosopher of note: “true greatness does not lie with those who strive for worldly fame, it lies instead with those who chose to serve in Jesus name”.
Indeed, Barr. Onofiok Akpan Luke is one great man and a leader who has build and affect positively on the lives of the poorest people and make them better human beings in his constituency and beyond.
In today’s society, the wealth of the nation is not in how much natural resources they have but in the quality of their human capital development. If the natural resources were to be the yardstick of wealth, Belgium, one of European’s most developed countries would certainly be the poorest. But Belgium has human capital thus, put her at the top.
Obviously, when putting this philosophical template within the Akwa Ibom context, Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke is the greatest asset that cannot be joked with, owing to his track records.
For those who may not know him, Onofiok Luke, I will say is a person who cares about his constituency, and by extension show interest in their welfare such as health standard; he believes in touching and impacting lives positively.
He who achieves success, definitely leaves well, laugh often, loves all mankind, gain the respect of intelligent men and is loved not only by the youths but also by little children.
For me, Barr. Onofiok that I know is a type who encourages service minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward. He always feels fulfilled and does well in his work while making God’s word his meditation that doesn’t depart from his mouth according to Psalmist.
He believes in unity as a panacea for development. He sees the best in a man and tries to develop it, never fail to give sympathy to those in distress and weak. In fact, his life is one with vast inspiration.
I see this man (Onofiok Luke) as a great achiever and a role model, a seasoned professional with multi-dimensional experiences and global world view that has been geared over the past years.
He has developed strong managerial skills and strategic ideas for the enactment of government affairs. However, I see him as a creative and result oriented personality with proven success in research, corporate governance, resource planning and financial forecast and other areas in both private and public affairs.
I hear him say sometime ago in a public event “my passion is to serve humanity in general irrespective of tribe, motivated me to step into leadership position”. He is always in the opinion for rededication and vivacities for the services of mankind.
Yes, in tandem with what the Holy scriptures record, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business he shall stand before the kings”.
Today, Barr. Onofiok Luke has stand before the kings of our society. This prodigious man has vision and he can see into the future, predict what is there in stock. He has a clear idea of where he is going and what he wants to accomplish for his people.
Having a clear and unique vision is what highly separates him from his contemporaries, while projecting himself as an outstanding icon of hope who has the capacity and morale to rally men, women and youths for a common purpose for sake of betterment of his constituency.
Latching on his parent guidance and the realization of the benefits of education as the antidote towards confronting the vagaries of life, Rt. Hon. Barr. Onofiok Luke strove hard to garner educational certificates that put on sound footing to attain his present height.
In order to make good future leaders, the Speaker of the 6th Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Barr. Onofiok Luke in his personal capacity has supported no fewer than one hundred (100) students of his constituency with N20,000 bursary each; N100,000 scholarship each to ten (10) indigenous students to run for 3 year, while five (5) law students from his constituency have also benefited from N100,000 each coupled with no fewer that 5,000 customized exercise and text books to five (5) selected secondary schools in Nsit Ubium.
Again, the Nsit Ubium representative has purchased at least 150 JAMB forms for qualified students of Nsit Ubium, afford registration and preparatory classes for Computer Best Test (CBT).
For me, this is the most robust and effective educational programme in the State. Barr. Luke speaking during this event on Friday 15th April 2017: “this has nothing to do with politics. By the grace of God you have given me the opportunity to serve you twice. I would have gone to rest after my last constituency briefing, but I have no rest because each time I lay back, I remember that there is still more to do for our people. For me education is still the best and doing this is just for the love I have for my people” he added.
