The industrialization policy and drive of Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration and the peaceful disposition of Akwa Ibom people has created a favourable business environment that attracts numerous foreign investments to the state.
The Managing Director of Jubilee Syringe manufacturing company, Mr Zubeyir Gulabi made the assertion during a facility tour of the company by the Ministry of Information and Strategy media crew.
Mr Gulabi said, apart from the conducive business environment created by the present administration for foreign investors, Akwa Ibom State has a good percentage of the raw materials needed for the industry.
He added that with the Nigerian population of about 200 million, the ninth in the world, the Jubilee Syringe Manufacturing Company which is the biggest Turkish industry in Nigeria is guaranteed of a large market.
Gulabi said that 10 youths from the State who were in Turkey for training have return as experts in Syringe production, having acquired the necessary skills and urged them to make judicious use of the opportunity accorded them by the company and the State government.
While commending Governor Udom Emmanuel for giving the company the opportunity to invest in the State, he pledged the company’s readiness to partner state government in its industrialization drive as well as adhere to the Nigerian local content Act of 2010 which stipulates that foreign investors must employ 70% Nigerian and 30% expatriates.
Conducting the media team round facilities in the company, the Managing Director, maintained that with the estimated consumption of about 1.2million to 4million syringes per annum, the company is optimistic of producing 350 million units of syringes annually.
The facility tour which coincided with the return of 10 Akwa Ibom youths from training in syringe manufacturing in Turkey, provided opportunity for the trainees to express their gratitude to Governor Udom Emmanuel and the management of Jubilee Syringe Company, and promised to justify the confidence repose in them.
