Outstanding performance: Deputy Governor hails Transition Committee Chairman

The Transition Committee Chairman for Abak Local Government Area, Dr. Emmanuel Udosen has assured Stakeholders and the entire people of Abak that the Transition Committee under his leadership will continue to emulate the good works of the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel by attracting the much-needed dividends of democracy to the people of Abak.

Dr. Udosem who stated this while presenting his scorecard to the Elders and stakeholders of Abak, noted that despite the economic challenges, his administration has recorded remarkable achievements, especially in the area of sanitation which through the operation keep Abak Clean has restored the lost glory of Abak.

 The Transition Committee Chairman listed other achievements of his administration to include; dissilting of all the gutters, construction of toilets facilities in Abak new and old market and Abak International Nursery School for proper faeces disposal, renovation of the Council Secretariat, repairs of Local Government grader and abandoned Chairman’s Prado Jeep, provision of borehole water in the Abak old market, refurbishing/ face lift of the Council Secretariat, empowerment of 30 widows with 30, 000 naira each, on the spot empowerment of 40 indigent traders to improve their businesses and payment of 10,000 Naira monthly to randomly selected 20 stakeholders.


Other achievements according to the Transition Committee Chairman include; payment of 5,000 to 50 youths on monthly basis, skill acquisition programme in conjunction with Miss Tourism and Union of Niger Delta where over 200 indigenes were trained on various trades and skills, free JAMB classes for indigenes of Abak, payment of school fees to over 50 indigenes of Abak, facilitating the sitting of Tilapia Island Resort which he noted, has created employment opportunities to many indigenes of the area, massive grading or roads among others.

The Transition Committee Chairman thanked the Elders, stakeholders and entire people of Abak for their support and cooperation and appealed for more support and prayers to enable his administration record more achievements.
Dr. Udosen used the occasion to congratulate the State Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo on his recent enthronement as the Patron of St. John Pro-Cathedral, Abak Parish.

He extolled the leadership qualities of Mr. Moses Ekpo, pointing out that as a unique Christian Ambassador and distinguished Elder statesman, the State Deputy Governor has proven to be selfless and worthy leader and indeed a gift of God to this generation.

The Transition Committee Chairman assured that the people of Abak will continue to support the government of Mr. Udom Emmanuel beyond 2019.
As the Voters Registration Exercise commences tomorrow, Dr. Udosen called on the people of Abak from 18 years and above and those who did not register to go 

out and register so as to be able to exercise their franchise during the upcoming elections.

In his reaction, the State Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo described the achievements recorded by Dr. Emmanuel Udosen as commendable and called on all to continue to support the Transition Committee Chairman to  enable him do more for the people of Abak.

Some of the Stakeholders present at the meeting were; the State Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo, the Member for Abak State Constituency, Elder Friday Iwok represented by his Wife, Deaconess Grace Iwok, Special advIser Bureau of Cooperative Development, Mrs. Ekemini Umoh, Permanent Secretaries, Pastor Praise Okon and Dr. (Mrs) Valarie Obot, immediate past Commissioner for Information, Elder Aniekan Umanah, PDP Chapter Chairman for Abak, Dr. Mike Udoh, all SAs and PAs  to Governor from Abak extraction, PDP Senatorial Woman Leader, Mrs. Useneno Christopher, Brig. Gen. Godwin Afangideh (Rtd), Immediate past Provost College of Education, Afaha Nsit, Dr. Patrick Uko, immediate past PDP Senatorial Chairman, Mr. Imo Ibokette, former Council Chairmen and Secretaries, Chairman Forum of Elected Councilors, Abak among others.
