Oil and Gas Companies Relationship with host communities Legislation Underway   - Senator Albert

The Distinguished Senator representing Akwa lbom North East in the 8th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Chair, Senate Committee on Gas, Senator Bassey Albert says there is a legislation that is underway that will compel Oil and Gas companies in Nigeria to think seriously of affecting their host communities positively as part of the innovations brought into the on -going legislative processes that the (PIGB) Petroleum Industry Governance Bill is currently going through

Senator Albert dropped the hint in the United States of America on Monday where he is part of a high powered Senate delegation currently in the US to attend several conferences to boost legislation in the oil and Gas sector in Nigeria.

OBA as he is famously called added “Things must change in our oil and gas industry for good so that Nigerians and the host communities can begin to feel the impact of these organizations”.

The team on Monday engaged Chevron US on their relationship with the host communities in their deep water operations in the Gulf of Mexico.
