My programmes for Akwa Ibom Youths - NYCN Chairman

The new chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, comrade Daniel Emem Daniel has said that he has good and live touching programmes for the youths of the State.  

Daniel Emem Daniel while chatting with THE INK last week, said his vision as he stepped into office is to give Akwa Ibom youths a new legacy and new look, whereby the youths would be changed from boys to men as well as impact the knowledge of understanding how the youths could be self reliance and independent in various capacities.

Comrade Daniel, who recently emerged chairman of NYCN after polling 93 votes to defeat his opponent, comrade John Udo, who had only 7 votes, said he won the election based on his vibrancy and pedigree having served as the chairman, National Youth of Council, Onna Chapter for two terms as well as other position both within and outside the State.


The NYCN promised to set up a training centre for dose that couldn’t make it in the educational field to be train in various skills. “I have partnered with somebody that would set up a pipeline welding training for the youths, set up a computer training centre which equally too will be training a lot of youths because the world now is going computerize and Akwa Ibom Youths should be conversance with it and will also set up a soft loans through partnership so that youths can have a interest free loan and they will use it and later return it for it to be regulated to another person, impactful seminars and summits as well as a lot of live touching programs for the youths.”

The NYCN chairman noted that his coming in would really change a lot of things and perception about the youths, adding that he will try to make the youths have a new sense of belonging in the society and most importantly turn them from boys to men. He maintained that with the subvention that would be given to his office by the State Government, he will use it wisely to ensure that all the youths benefit and also make good use of it. The subvention, the chairman said will help him run a steady and smooth administration right from the State to all the chapter levels.

He used the opportunity to challenged Akwa Ibom youths to rise up to the position of leadership, saying that before the expiration of his tenure so many youths will turn to millionaires because of the lofty programmes that would be put in place by his administration. According to him, “I will map out modalities as well as set up committees that would help me to achieve this”

Comrade Daniel commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for his developmental strides across the State. He mentioned the governor’s benevolence to include; regular payment of salaries to civil servants, construction of roads, industrializing the State among others. He described Deacon Udom Emmanuel as God sent that has come to transform Akwa Ibom State from a non-economical State to a super State that would be competing with other developed States in the country at the end of the his tenure. He further added that when some of the projects handled by Governor Udom Emmanuel are completed, it will generate revenue to the State and the youth will equally get employed in various capacities.

He appealed to the governor to do more for the youths, saying that it is high time the youths take it rightful place in the scheme of things in the government even as he described the youths as partners in progress. While assuring that the youths of the State will stand by the governor in his second term ambition bid, Comrade Daniel said the youths will mobilize for votes for Deacon Udom Emmanuel.      
                  
When asked the different between the Akwa Ibom State Youth Caucus and National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Daniel said the Akwa Ibom State Youth Caucus is a political group that it is only formed in the State, while that of the National Youth Council of Nigeria is a non-political group and it is the apex youths body which cuts across the 36 States of the Federation. 

He added that NYCN was set up by the Federal Government to carry youths in the country along in the scheme of things as it has to do with governance, while Akwa Ibom State Youths Caucus is an association that is mainly political and it is affiliated to the NYCN like every other youth groups in the State.

He called on the youths to continue to supports the present administration as well as be ready to take up leadership positions in the State.
