Commercial tricycle operators popularly known as keke riders will sooner or later pay a solidarity visit to Governor Udom Emmanuel in the Akwa Ibom State Government House. This information was disclosed to newsmen by Mr. Orman Esin Commissioner for Transport and Petroleum Resources yesterday during an interaction with keke operators in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital.
Orman Esin who announced to the operators that Governor Udom Emmanuel has good plans for them also informed them that the State Governor has approved their demand for ticket free days on weekends and on Public holidays.
This announcement by Esin mad the jubilant keke riders burst into excitement calling on the state Governor to prepare to return to Akwa Ibom state government House in 2019 for a second term.
They chanted songs of solidarity and described the Governor as a Fine Boy who understands the problems and plight of the people.
Speaking further, Orman Esin added that Keke business is an institution that the state government is interested in and promised them that Governor Udom Emmanuel will continue to endorse policies that will help them and their business grow.
The transport commissioner maintained that the state Governor after appointing him as a commissioner had deployed him to the Transport ministry so that he can liaise with stakeholders and operators towards making life better for them.
He called on them to continue supporting the Udom Emmanuel administration which he described as Godly. Keke operators who spoke to our reporters described the initiative as laudable. They prayed God to bless “our handsome Governor and his beautiful wife” and also promised to support Governor Emmanuel to return as a Governor in 2019.
Commercial tricycle operators were also full of praises for Orman Esin whom they described as a good intermediary and promised to support the Oron born commissioner to succeed. The solidarity visit to the Governor by Keke riders may likely hold today or within the week going by the positions advanced by the commissioner and keke operators.
