Retired Police chief bags chieftaincy title

A retired Superintendent of Police, Hon. Prince Francis Umoh has been honoured with a chieftaincy title of “Obong Unwana Otoro Clan” in Abak local government area.

The event which took place at Elder Friday Iwok’s Civic Centre, Abiaokpo Otoro-Abak was witnessed by a cream of personalities from within and outside the state.

Speaking before presenting the title, the Clan Head of Otoro, Obong Saviour Sylvester Udofia said the honour was in recognition of Hon. Francis Umoh’s contribution to the peace, unity and development of Otoro Clan. Obong Udofia listed other achievements of Hon. Prince Francis Umoh to include; providing security in the clan and the beatification of Elder Friday Iwok’s Civic Centre.


Responding, Hon. Prince Francis Umoh who is the Leader, One Family Organization, expressed gratitude to the Otoro Clan Traditional Rulers Council for the honour done him, stressing that it will encourage him to do more for the development of the clan in particular and humanity in general. 

“I want to use this medium to thank the Clan Head and the Clan Council for recognizing my little effort in enhancing security in Otoro Clan and the beautification of our beloved civic centre by this great award of Honour. With this I promise that as long as God Almighty gives me the strength and enablement, I will do more for Otoro people”, the Leader One Family Organization stated.

Hon. Prince Umoh, himself a former Councilor who represented Otoro Ward 2 in Abak Legislative Council used the occasion to appeal to the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel to remember the people of Otoro Clan by constructing the Manta – Abak 10 Miles road which he noted, had been in a very deplorable state over the years.
