…condole AKSG, A’Ibom people on Reigners’ Church tragedy
Muslims in Akwa Ibom State have joined their counterparts worldwide to mark Eid el-Maulud which is a commemoration of the birthday of Prophet Muhammed.
The commemorative service which took place at the Central Mosque in Itam, was a night long vigil presided over by the Chief Imam of Akwa Ibom, Alhaji Muhammed Adamu and attended by clerics from the length and breadth of Nigeria, leadership of the Hausa community led by Alhaji Hassan Sadauki, and muslim faithful resident in the state.
The Imam in his sermon charged Muslims to adhere strictly to the teachings of Prophet Muhammed.
He said the holy prophet preached the message of peace, truthfulness, faithfulness and eschewing all forms of negative tendencies.
Speaking with journalists, the Imam said the Holy Prophet who was born in 570 AD in Mecca in present day Saudi Arabia lived a life and set a standard as a role model.
He said the Eid el-Maulud offers muslims ample opportunity to reflect on their lifestyle and ascertain if same is in consonance with the dictates of the Holy Quran.
Meanwhile, the Hausa Community in the Akwa Ibom state has condoled with the state government and Akwa Ibom people on the Reigners’ Bible Church fatal collapse.
In a release signed by the leader of the community (Sarkin Hausawa), Alhaji Hassan Sadauki and Secretary, Alhaji Mijinyawa Adamu, members of the community disclosed that they received with shock, news of the fatal collapse of Reigners’ Bible Church auditorium in Uyo.
They condoled with the Akwa Ibom State government, relatives of the departed and indeed the Christian community on this disastrous occurrence, and prayed Allah to comfort everyone affected by this incident.
While praying God to grant divine rest to the departed, they prayed that similar tragedy don’t befall Akwa Ibom again.
