Hon. Victor Udofia,  member representing Ikono State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly was last weekend honoured by the people of Ikono Local Government Area in a grand reception organised by the Ibiaku Heritage Forum. The event was graced by top personalities in the state including the state Deputy Governor, Obong Moses Ekpo, the Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Anofiok Luke and other principal members of the House. Also, members of the Transition Committee from the Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency were also on hand to celebrate the lawmaker.

Speakers upon speakers including the Grand Patron of Ikono Heritage Forum, Sir Sunday Udo Akpan acknowledged the achievements of the lawmaker in the State Assembly urging him to continue in his good works..

Hon. Udofia whose joy knew no bound, in speech assured the people of the area that he will continue to give them good representation in the state House even as he promised to bring more developmental projects to the area.
Barr. Anofiok Luke in his speech extolled the leadership qualities of the Ikono Lawmaker describing him as a square peg in a square hole. He thanked the people of the area for their decision to send Hon. Udofia to represent them in the lawmaking chamber; saying that with the likes of Victor Udofia in the House  Ikono would have no cause to worry about.

Sir, Sunday Udo Akpan in his message charged the people of Ikono to continue to support the leadership of the lawmaker and to queue behind him even in his future aspiration saying he has justified the reasons he was voted for and the confidence reposed in him.

Addressing newsmen at his country home, the lawmaker noted that he was happy to have been received by the people of Ikono saying that the action has spurred him to perform more for the people.

He thanked the people of the area for all the supports given him in the House of Assembly adding that he will not fail to deliver on all his campaign promises.

He however dismissed the news making the rounds that he had dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) saying that there are constitutional provisions and procedures to follow before anybody can leave the party. According to Hon. Udofia, “See, you do not just leave the party for no justifiable reason. Take note that there are constitutional provisions and procedures to follow before you dump a particular party. That I have a relationship as a friend with the NDDC Boss does not mean that I am no more a member of the PDP. We have been friends before politics, we are not friends because of political affiliations and this is what people do not know”, he submitted.

Highlight of the event include cultural display, presentation of awards and messages of solidarity, one of which came from Akwa Ibom Media Practitioners Caucus among others.
