2019: PDP Councillors root for Udom

Former Councillors of  the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State have regrouped themselves to rally supports for the 2019 re-election of Deacon Udom Emmanuel as the governor of  Akwa Ibom State.

The Chairman of the Group, Hon. Kelly Okon while addressing the Press in Uyo, said that the reactivation of the grassroot network in the State for the governor became necessary after studying the developmental strides of the Governor since his inception in office.

He noticed that the position of the group to adopt the governor as the sole candidate of the group in 2019 was as a result of his matured approached to governance and the dexterity so far demonstrated in managing the lean economic resources even in the time of recession.

He described the governor’s leadership style as indispensable adding that he has clearly separated politics from governance which has given him an edge in political governance.

Hon. Okon said that with the constitution of the present State Executive Council which is made up of seasoned technocrats, there are high hopes that the appointees would deliver on their assigned task.

Also speaking the State Deputy Chairman of the Group, Hon. Mfon Bassey applauded governor Emmanuel on the appointment of Prominent Sons of Oro Extraction into his cabinet, assuring that they would live up to their expectations.

The State Publicity Secretary of the Former lawmakers, Hon. Imo Ben stated that it was only logical to support governor Udom to govern the State for 8 years saying that governor Attah and Akpabio all governed the State from different Senatorial Districts for 8 years each.

Hon. Unyime Ekanem, Uyoatta Udo, Anietie Eka, Kingsley Akpan and Isong Ukpong among others are members of the group.
