The people of Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency have applauded Governor Udom Emmanuel over the appointment of a seasoned technocrat and varsity lecturer, Hon. (Dr.) Glory Edet as the Commissioner for Women Affairs in the State.
The people who said that Dr. Edet was a square peg in a square hole noted that with the likes of Dr. Edet in the State Ministry of Women Affairs, the People of the State would have no cause to complain about saying that she has a wealth of experience to take the ministry to the expected heights.
The Transition Chairman of Ini, Elder Israel Idaisin who spoke to newsmen shortly after the inauguration of the State Executive Council thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for reappointing Dr. Edet as the Commissioner for Women Affairs in the State.
According to the Transition Chairman, we, the people of Ini Local Government are very grateful to the Governor for finding it necessary to reappoint Dr. Glory Emmanuel Edet as the State Commissioner for Women Affairs in Akwa Ibom State, we are happy and I urge everybody to rally support for the commissioner and the Government of Akwa Ibom State; May God continue to guide and protect governor Emmanuel to continue to develop the state taking it to greater heights.
In the same vein, the Transition Chairman of Ikono, Mr. Itoro Columba also thanked the State Governor for the Women Affairs Commissioner appointment noting that Dr. Edet has what it takes to serve in that capacity.
Others who were grateful to the State Governor include, Former Chief Whip of Akwa Ibom State, House of Assembly Chief Ukata Sam Akpan, Former Chairman of Ini, Hon, Emmanuel Ebe, The Present Chief Whip of the State Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Ekpeyong among others.
