Community hails Gov. Emmanuel, Commissioner

Governor Udom  Emmanuel of AkwaIbom State has been commended for his numerous strides in his people-oriented administration. The people of Ikot Oku Usung in Ukanafun L.G.A made the commendation in a statement issued by the village council and by Chief NsikanIkot-village Council Chairman and Mr. Udeme Charlie- secretary, Chief ImeUdoUsoro, Chief Rufus Tommy Ikpe, Chief Sunday Dan John – family heads. 

The people expressed profound appreciation to Governor Emmanuel for appointing one of their own, Hon. UdoEkpenyong as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, describing the appointment as well-deserved and given the experience, exposure and pedigree of Ekpenyong as a seasoned politician, a strategic and consummate grassroots mobilizer who has the capacity to deliver on his mandate.

The village council further stated that as a former chairman of Ukanafun L.G.A, former member of the State Executive Council and National officer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who has contributed tremendously to the development of the community in terms of facilitating employment for Ukanafun indigenes, donation of solar-powered borehole, among other contributions.

The people hailed the member representing Ukanafun State Constituency in the State House of Assembly. They called on Ukanafun people to be more united to attract meaningful development to the area.

Hon. Otobong Jonathan Akpan prayed God to guide, protect and give them wisdom and strength. They equally thanked the state Chief Executive for appointing Ukanafun indigenes as his aides. This, according to the statement, has impacted positively on the lives of the people.
