Igbo Community in Uyo celebrates year 2016

The Igbo Community in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State has celebrated this year amid funfare, goodwill messages and greater expectation in the next year. The event which took place at Christ the King School, Wellington Bassey Way, Uyo witnessed large turnout of Igbo’s sons and daughters from the five Igbo speaking states: Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Abia and Ebonyi. 

While briefing newsmen, one of the illustrious sons of Igbo, Deacon Dan Chukwuma, MD Dompec Global Resources Ltd thanked God for His benevolence upon Igbo Community in Uyo in the year 2016. He equally appreciated God for the peace and progress in AKwa Ibom State, and the quality of leadership God has blessed the state with.

However, Chukwuma said “Governor Udom Emmanuel is a visionary leader with administrative dexterity, detribalize leader, devoid of ethnic sentiment and biases”. Also, he stated that “with the inclusive and industrialization policy of the Governor, with the involvement of both indigenes and non-indigenes, hence the state will experience tremendous development in due time”.

Similarly, PRO of The Young Shall Grow Motors Ltd, Patron Chief Joseph Uchenna Obi has likewise commended the leadership disposition of Gov. Udom Emmanuel. He said “Akwa Ibom State is blessed to have a leader like Gov. Udom Emmanuel who places priority on wealth creation, manpower development and total transformation of the state into industrial hub”. The Young Shall Grow PRO maintain that Akwa Ibom state the most peaceful state in Nigeria at present. Therefore, he stressed that the Igbo community in the state will align with the government for mutual relation. “We gathered here to today to celebrate in love, peace and unity which Igbo community stands”  he concluded. 

In retrospect, Elder Chibuzor B. Okorie, M/P Chibex & Bros, Uyo explained the genesis of Igbo community in Uyo which anchored on love, unity, peace and development. However, he stated that Igbo community in Uyo will always abide by the law of the land and engage in legitimate business and contribute meaningfully to the economic development of the state.

Moreover, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Igbo community Uyo, Eze Berth Nnnaemeka (JP) and High Chief Fabian N. Olgu, Chairman Ebonyi in separated interviews commended Akwa Ibom State Governor, hence advised Igbo people residing in the state to be law abiding and peaceful.
