Chief Nduese Essien hosts thanksgiving service in Eket

An elder statesman,  Chief Nduese Essien has lauded Governor Udom Emmanuel for brave capacity to handle the ongoing recession in Akwa Ibom State nay Nigeria and described him as God sent to Akwa Ibom at the right time. Rt. Hon. Nduese Essien gave the commendation during a special thanksgiving service at Qua Iboe Church, Ikot Ibiok in Eket Local Government Area. 

Former Minister Lands, Housing and Urban Development said Udom Emmanuel was prepared by God to come at this time when oil price has fallen, and the economy is of the country is in comatose, explaining that Udom Emmanuel has continued to governed the State effectively by prompt payment of workers salary, construction of roads, sustaining the free and compulsory education, providing free health services to the women and aged and many others. 

Speaking at the special thanksgiving the two term house of Representative member commended the State government for the standard of Ibom Specialist Hospital which had saved the Akwa Ibom people who were affected by the recent church collapsed along Uyo Village road.
He attested that the hospital had saved hundreds of lives and will further restore lives when upgraded with more facilities. He specifically thanked God for sparing his life following a heart surgery where he overcame all odds and came out alive. He said during the period of his operation, people had gone round to spread rumour that he was dead but God restored him back his life. 

Rt. Hon. Essien further advised Akwa Ibom people to shun the pull him down syndrome and called on them to put all their hopes in God even at the time things are tough and difficult. 

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor Deacon Udom Emmanuel represented by his Deputy Mr. Moses Ekpo commended Chief Nduese Essien for his immense contributions to the development of his Community, State and Nigeria at large. He advised the youth of the state to emulate his sterling qualities and assured that his administration will continued to impact positively on the citizen. 

The event attracted crem-de-la crem of the society including Senator representing Eket senatorial district, Senator Nelson Effiong, Senator Helen Esuene, Senator Anietie Okon, the member representing Eket Federal Constituency Deaconess Owoideghe Ekpoatai, INEC Commissioner Rivers State Mr. Aniedi Ikoiwak amongs others.
