 Deputy Governor commissions water project at Abak abattoir
The State Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo has commissioned a water project constructed by the Transition Committee Chairman for Abak, Dr. Emmanuel Udosen at Abak New Market, Abak.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the State Deputy Governor saluted the Transition Committee Chairman, Dr. Emmanuel Udosen for his well-thought initiative, stressing that the water project will help restore the sanitary condition of the abattoir.

Mr. Ekpo pointed out that without the abattoir which his late father worked while alive, he wouldn’t have gone to the stage he attended in his educational career.

He described the siting of the water project as an honour to his late Father and called the management of the abattoir to make proper use of the water. The Deputy Governor lauded the management of the abattoir for keeping the place clean, thereby making the meat good for human consumption.


The State Number 2 citizen noted with delight the practical change the Transition Committee Chairman has brought to Abak. “He is a versatile young man who has done great things for us, bringing practical change. We will give him all the support he will need to make sure he put things in proper place”, the Deputy Governor stated.

Earlier, the Transition Committee Chairman for Abak, Dr. Emmanuel Udosen had expressed gratitude to God for making the day possible and thanked the Deputy Governor for finding time despite his tight schedules to come and commission the project.

Dr. Udosen also thanked the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for giving him the opportunity to serve as the Transition Committee Chairman. He noted that since water is life, the Transition Committee under his leadership decided to embark on the water project at the abattoir to make their product clean and neat for human consumption.

The Transition Committee Chairman promised to complete the Secretariat project before the expiration of the tenure. He thanked the Traditional Rulers, Elders, Youths and Women for the support and co-operation given to the Transition Committee.

Also speaking, the Chairman Abak Butchers Association, Mr. Odudu John thanked the Transition Committee Chairman for putting smiles on their face, describing the Transition Committee Chairman as an outstanding performer who has despite the meager resources, made impact in the history of the Local Government administration.

Mr. John called on the people of Abak to support the Transition Committee Chairman to do more for the people of the area. Others who spoke at the occasion including the Village Head of Abak Village, Obong Ifiok Umanah, the Chaiman Conference of Village Heads, Abak Chapter, Chief Fabian Joseph Sampson among others, appreciated the Transition Committee Chairman for the achievements he has recorded since assumption of office.
