Emmanuel Udosen emerges best performing Council Chairman in South South

The Transition Committee Chairman for Abak Local Government Area, Dr. Emmanuel Udosen has bagged Nigerian Local Government Merit Award (LOGMA) for quality leadership through service delivery and accountability.

Dr. Udosen emerged as the best performing local government chairman in the South South region after careful assessment of the performances of Council Chairmen from the zone in the year under review by the Nigerian Local Government merit Award 2016 organizers.

Presenting his address at the 2016 Local Government Merit Award Ceremony which took place at Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, the National Protect Coordinator, Prince Bayode Ojo said Dr. Emmanuel Udosen was chosen for the award based on the achievements he has recorded as the Transition Committee Chairman for Abak Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State.

Princte Ojo listed some of the achievements of the Abak Local Government Transition Committee Chairman to include, massive grading of rural roads, environmental sanitation, ongoing construction work and remodeling of new Abak Local Government Secretariat, provision of bore hole water at Abak New Market Abattoir, sponsoring of sporting competitions to discover hidden talents of the area, thereby promoting grassroot sports development, facilitating the siting of Tilapia Island Resort which has created job opportunities to over 100 people and also provide recreational facility to the people of the state, youth and women empowerment among others.

Presenting the Award to Dr. Udosen, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara commended him for the achievements he has recorded in Abak. The speaker who was represented at the occasion by Chairman House of Representative Committee on Governmental Affairs, Dr. Hossain Suleiman Kangiwa, congratulated Dr. Udosen on the award and charged him to continue to do more for his people.

Responding, Dr. Emmannuel Udosen expressed gratitude to God for what He has done in his life, stressing that he was surprised that the little he has done has been noticed outside Akwa Ibom state.

The Transition Committee Chairman thanked the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for giving him the opportunity to serve, pointing out that without him, the award wouldn’t have come his way and lauded the organizers for finding him worthy for the award.

Dr. Udosen also thanked members of his committee and the entire people of Abak for their support and cooperation.

He dedicated the award to the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel.

It would be recalled that Dr. Udosen has bagged several awards since assumption of office including Akwa Ibom Sports Chairman of the year 2015 by the State Chapter of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Award of Excellence for grassroot sports development in the state by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Award of Excellence for outstanding grassroot governance by Association of Former Electecd Councilors of Abak (AFECO) among others.
