Prince Nsikak Okon, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain who was recently appointed as the Contacts and Mobilization Director of the General Muhammadu Buhari presidential campaign organization has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is determined to crush any attempts by the PDP to upturn the decision on Nigerians.
He said since the “handwriting of victory is on the wall and because Nigerians are determined to finally usher in positive change, the PDP is out to change this, but we set to ensure our imminent victory is actualized.”
“You cannot only postpone elections but not the collective will of the people. Change is here and it will sweep across the country on March,” Okon said.
Prince Okon, an indigene of Ikot Akpabio in Nsit Atai local government area of Akwa Ibom state was appointed into the national council of the Buhari campaign group in January.
According to his appointment letter, Prince Okon was nominated into the APC campaign organization in recognition of his “wealth of experience in politics” as well as his “capacity in mobilising the Nigerian electorate towards our collective goal of attaining landslide victory I the upcoming 2015 general elections.”
He said in a chat with reporters in Uyo on Wednesday that in spite of the postponement of the elections, the APC team is confident that it will win the rescheduled elections in all the states of the country.
According to him, his position as the mobilization director of the opposition party has availed him the opportunity to come face-to-face with “the desperation by Nigerians who want to get rid of the PDP administration.” He described the overwhelming supports the APC enjoys as “a revolutionary wind which nobody can stop.”
He said also that Akwa Ibom state has become an APC stronghold and that the party will win the state in the coming election.
According to him, “The Governor Godswill Akpabio administration is one which has thrived on so much impunity. You can feel the anger of Akwa Ibom people everywhere you go in this state. Extreme hunger runs in the land.
People lack basic amenities in the midst of abundance. You see why this positive change is unstoppable even in our state?
“Nothing can stop APC from taking over power on May 29 because the people have had enough. Our patience has been overstretched and we cannot continue like this any longer as a people.”
