Ibom Communications Ltd, a subsidiary of Idems Ultimate Ltd, leading Telecommunication Company in Akwa Ibom, has emerged the 2014 Best MTN Trade Partner in Nigeria.
The company, came tops out of 100 Trade Partners nationwide at an elaborate ceremony during the MTN Sales Conference at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, Tuesday.
Idems Ultimate Ltd had won the 2014 Airtel Best Channel Partner in Nigeria by Airtel Network Limited; 2013 Airtel Best Channel Partner in Nigeria by Airtel Network Limited; 2013 MTN Best Retail Sales Partner in Nigeria by MTN Mobile Network; 2014 Heroes Award by Etisalat South Eastern Region; 2012 Best Partnership Award by Globacom.
Ikpoki said Ibom Communications Ltd was a unique brand which had distinguished itself in various aspects, including sales volume, activation, business governance, creating employment opportunities and point of presence in a given territory.
He presented the Star Prize and a 2014 model Range Rover Vogue to Idem, advising him to sustain the tempo of the business while urging other companies to borrow a leaf from the company.
Ukpanah commended Idem for standing out in his business, describing him as a humble, creative, ingenious and hardworking businessman who has used his God-given talent to impact on humanity and society.
Tunde described the award as well deserved given Idem’s business acumen while lauding MTN for rewarding excellence.
Responding, Idem thanked God for His grace, strength and the enablement to attaining the feat as well as the management of MTN for “giving us the platform, not just to do its business but to create employment opportunities for the teeming youths of this country and young school leavers. For me, that’s where I draw the excitement from.”
He stated that the award was a reward for “hardwork, diligence, high level of integrity and commitment to playing our game,” giving kudos to the Chief Godswill Akpabio Administration for providing the enabling environment for business to thrive in the state.
The company’s CEO maintained that the award would spur him and the entire management team of Ibom Communications Ltd to do more, work very hard and take the products and services of the business to all the nooks and crannies of the state and country and also to double the efforts of employment, which, he said was presently 206.
Idem told Weekend Pioneer that he never lobbied for the award because, “MTN believes in transparency and due process. There was no room for manipulation. The criteria were very clear.”
He advised businessmen in the state and country to be honest in their endeavours, take the business serious, be committed and diligent in their day-to-day engagements, while also advising young school leavers not to depend on public service and government jobs but should do things that would contribute to national development, state economy and humanity.
Meanwhile, many groups, individuals and organizations have continued to identify with Idem on the award.

A former chairman of Ukanafun Local Government Area and national officer of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, (PDP), Mr Udo Ekpenyong, also congratulated Idem for distinguishing himself in his chosen line of business.
