A One day football tournament organized by Football Lovers Group (FLG), Etim Ekpo local government area will take place on Saturday, 31st January, 2015 at Qua Iboe Church Primary School, Ikpe Ikot Akwa, in Etim Ekpo local government.
A statement jointly signed by the President of the Group, Mr. Elisha Joshua Itok and Coordinator, Mr. Gabriel Benson indicates that six teams are taking part in the tournament.
The six teams according to the statement are: Rising Stars Football Club, Etim Ekpo, Everbright Football Club, Etim Ekpo, All For One Football Club, Planners FC, Etim Ekpo, Abat Town Football Club and Young Drivers Football Club.
The aim of the Tournament according to the statement is to bring out hidden football talents from the area and exposed them to national lime light.
The tournament will kick off by 9am and outstanding players discovered will be recommended for screening at Ibom Youth FC, Akwa Starlets FC, Akwa United FC, and the Ibom State Team to the National Sports Festival.
The Tournament according to the statement, will be witnessed by renowned Sports administrators, football coaches and scouts including the State Secretary of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Mr. Isonguyo Iniodu.
Those expected to attend as Guests of honour include, Pastor Joseph Felix Udoh, Hon. Imo Efen, Hon. Usen Umo Ukpong and Apostle Ekemini Ekong.
Others are, Mr. Ifiok Johnson, Mr. Uwem Ephraim. At the end of the tournament, the winner will smile home with a giant trophy and fantastic cash prizes.
The statement has therefore invited the general public to watch the tournament.
