The 2015 Akwa Ibom  State Football Association (AKSFA) election is becoming more interesting as the Senator representing Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Aloysius Etok last Thursday picked nomination form to contest the position of chairman.

Speaking shortly after buying the nomination form at the Football Association office, Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat, Senator Aloysius Etok said after due consultations with major football stakeholders  and also considering the sorry state of football in Akwa Ibom State, he decided to offer himself to serve in the position of Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Football Association (AKSFA) in order to see together with other sports stakeholders how to redeem the poor state of football in the state.
He said if voted into office as the next AKSFA chairman, his administration will ensure total upliftment of football as a major game in the state as well as provide means of livelihood and opportunity of creating employments to the teeming youths. The two-term Senator who bought the 004 chairmanship form, promised to reawaken football activities so as to make football more attractive to the people of Akwa Ibom State.

According to him “we are all aware of the fact that for eleven years now, I have invested heavily in football administration, not only in Akwa Ibom State but Nigeria in general also. Therefore, I feel we should bring back the lost glory to the State and to the enhance the living welfare of footballers in the State, especially those who are no more active in football so that they well have something to show.”

While thanking the Electoral Committee for giving him the opportunity to purchase the nomination form, the Senator who hails from Ikono Local Government Area, maintained that he ready to serve football lovers on the capacity of AKSFA chairman, adding that with his experience as the Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he will move football administration in Akwa Ibom State from the present level to the National level. Etok was accompanied by representative of Referees Association, chairman of professional Football Association in the state and board members of Fortune Football Club.
