Udoedehe’s Lawyer makes u-turn, supports PDP & Udom Emmanuel
A foremost lawyer Barr Andem Ndem has advised the aggrieved members of the PDP, and all opposed the the aspiration of Mr Udom Emmanuel to sheath their sword and support the PDP candidate ahead of the 2015 governorship elections.

Andem, lawyer to APC Chieftain and 2011 governorship candidate Senator John Akpan Udoedehe, maintained that having ‘wasted’ his time in opposing Governor Akpabio’s administration and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, he has deemed it fit to come back and support the party to deliver more dividends for the state.

Addressing the 2015 PDP Campaign rally in his hometown, Etinan on Saturday, Barr. Ndem said specifically charged Senator Ita Enang to understand that power belongs to the people who have the right to choose whoever they like, and since he has been rejected, he and his ilk should resist teh temptation of joining the opposition as it was sheer waste of time.
“Ita Enang and his co-travelers should know that if opposition was profitable, I would have been a beneficiary after all these years”

Speaking at the rally, Governor Akpabio recounted the days of renowned economist Late Dr. Clement Isong as Governor of the old Cross River State that saw him establishing several industries in the state, and assured that Udom Emmanuel who is also a tested financial manager, will relive an era of industrialization in the State.

He described Udom as their illustrious son, since his village in Onna, Awa Iman shares history with Iman Ibom people of Etinan.

Addressing the rally, Udom Emmanuel promised the completion of the dual carriage way linking Ibeno, Eket, Etinan and Uyo.

He also spoke favourably on upgrading facilities at Etinan Institute, and also assured of his readiness to create new industries including one at the site of the defunct Peacock Paints Industry, in a bid to bring back the past glory of the area.

The Chairman of Etinan, Kenneth Okon, the PDP Chairman Paul Ekpo and others maintained that no other party has ever won in Etinan, saying the party will continue to hold emerge victorious in all categories of elections.
“Those who are not sure of returning PDP 100% should come and learn from us in Etinan,” Okon boasted.

Earlier when the train made a stop at Nsit Ibom, the governorship hopeful had committed himself to the construction of more roads and bridges in the area and in the state. That will include Ikot Akpan Abia/Ikot Edibon road and expansion of the Nung Udoe/Afaha Offiong road among others.

He said that his administration will establish a general hospital for effective healthcare delivery, as well as upgrade the primary health center at Asong village into a cottage hospital;

Udom also announced plans for a free skills development center and other training schemes for Nsit Ibom youths. He also promised to restructure and revitalise the state Agricultural Agency AKADEP to facilitate mechanized farm activities in the State.

In line with tradition, the governorship hopeful who always pays homage to the head of traditional institutions in the areas, was at the royal Palaces in Etinan and Nsit Ibom, were both rulers Edidem Ime Dickson Umoette of Etinan and Dr. Manasseh Akpan of Nsit Ibom granted him royal blessings and urged him to rule the state with the fear of God on assumption of office.
