The National President of Ujo Afaha Obong in Abak local government area, Brig. Gen. Godwin Afangideh (Rtd) has assured that Ujo Afaha Obong and the entire people of Abak will vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel and other PDP Candidates during the forth coming election.
Gen. Afangideh who spoke with journalists at Abak recently, explained that since Chief Akpabio has performed exceedingly well, his likely successor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel will continue with the uncommon transformation being witnessed in the state. “I support the PDP Governorship Candidate, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and his Deputy, Ette Moses Ekpo. Moses Ekpo as a seasoned technocrat will be able to join hands with the Governor, Udom Emmanuel, a financial expert to bring about the necessary transformation of the state,” Gen. Afangideh stated.
The Secretary General of Afe Annang thanked the State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio and the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state for nominating an illustrious son of Abak as the Deputy Governorship Candidate.
The Retired Army General expressed the hope that with his experience, Mr. Moses Ekpo will add value to the incoming administration.
He described the choice of Mr. Udom Emmanuel and Mr. Moses Ekpo as the best for the people of Akwa Ibom State and called on all to join hands and vote for them during the forth-coming election.
The Elder Statesman also drummed support for Elder Friday Iwok. “And for Elder Friday Iwok, I also support his second term bid to represent Abak State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly to go and continue on his already landmark achievements and representation which have been of immense benefit for the people of his constituency,” said Gen. Afangideh.
The Ujo Afaha Obong President also assured Mr. Emmanuel Ekon of his support, stressing that he will be in a better position to provide the necessary representation for the people of his Federal Constituency during his second term.
On who occupies the Aso Rock Villa from May 29, 2015, Gen. Afangideh described Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as the best choice for Nigeria, stressing that he should be supported to continue with his transformation programme.
The Ujo Afaha Obong President listed some of the achievements of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to include; the resuscitation of railway lines, construction of roads , agriculture renaissance, improved power supply among others .
He advised all registered voters in Abak and Akwa Ibom State to procure their permanent voters card to enable them vote for all the PDP Candidates during the forth-coming elections. “My advise is for all registered voters in Akwa Ibom State to procure their permanent voters card for the main party in Akwa Ibom State which is PDP and to vote for all the PDP Candidates because without the permanent voters cards, they cannot express their wishes in practical term for the enthronement of PDP Government in the State,” the retired General stated.
Gen. Afangideh suggested that registration of voters should be a continuous affair where potential voters are allowed to register at any place he is opportune to and not only when there are elections. “It is also my view that with a valid Permanent Voters Card (PVC) people should feel free to vote at any location convenient to them at elections because the attendant problems of re-location, and movements not only where they were registered. This will also afford opportunity for Nigerians in the Diaspora to exercise their franchise without having to travel to come to vote”, the Ujo Afaha Obong President reasoned.
He warned against sitting on the fence, stressing that the era has gone.
