A frontline chieftain of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State and former Director General of the Senatorial bid for Ime Albert Akpan, Mr Daniel Udoh has described the entry of Ime Albert Akpan into the 2015 Governorship race as irrelevant as he has no political structure in any local government area in the state to galvanize any support for his gubernatorial bid.
He spoke on behalf of Bassey Albert in a tone political followers view as maintaining that Ime Albert is expired in politics.
Addressing newsmen in Uyo, the party chieftain who is also the Grand Commander of the Ibiono Ibom Grand Alliance an apex socio-political organization in Ibiono Ibom local government area dismissed Ime Albert as having lost touch with the people of Ibiono Ibom, Uyo Senatorial District and Akwa Iobm State at large.
He said that after the aborted senatorial bid for Ime Albert in 2011, he had deliberately abandoned all his supporters in the last four years without any form of support to sustain his structure even at the ward level only to re-surface to seek an exalted position which he does not deserve.
Mr Daniel Udoh, popularly known as North South stated that the good people of Ibiono Ibom including the Elders, Youths, women had made a resolution to endorse only one candidate in the Governorship race for Akwa Ibom State in the person of Obong Bassey Albert Akpan and the people will not be distracted by the unnecessary utterances of Ime Albert as it smacks of jealousy, envy and a betrayal of his status on the people of Ibibo Ibom local government area who have severally expressed confidence on the leadership qualities of Obong Bassey Albert Akpan in the success story of the Uncommon Transformation of the Governor Akpabio’s administration.
He described Bassey Albert Akpan as a distinguished Akwa Ibom son, well accepted across the 31 local government areas of the state and whose benevolence goes beyond his public service to the country as he has a track record of achievements that has been globally acknowledged.
He said that as a former Director General of Ime Albert’s senatorial bid, he expected him to be more matured and reserved in his utterances especially against the Traditional Institution and the people of Ibibo Ibom as he has no political structures, while cautioning him that elections are not won on the pages of newspaper, but by having a depth of structure on ground which he totally lacks.
He said that no amount of blackmail on Obong Bassey Albert Akpan will deter him from emerging the winner of the governorship nominations next month as Ime Albert should focus more on addressing issues that would surpass the uncommon transformation of Governor Akpabio rather than shamelessly engage in diversionary blames that have no sane reasoning with the public.
He urged the public to assess the utterances of such personalities like Ime Albert and weigh the content as having any meaningful impact on the economy of the state as we approach the industrialization.
Mr Daniel Udoh while re-affirming that Bassey Albert has the pedigree to usher a new renaissance in the state as his meritorious service as Finance Commissioner for seven years has given him the widest advantage to assess the challenges and prefer solution in the development of the state.
He said that it remains shameful that Ime Albert who claims to be well exposed and traveled can descend so low as abusing his brother, shows the kind of person that he is.
Mr Daniel Udoh stated that Bassey Albert funded Ime Albert’s senatorial bid and he should be ashamed as the people of Akwa Ibom State have seen his likes before as he has shown evil desperation to disown his brother, but fortunately, the people of Ibibo Ibom and Akwa Ibomites have taken a decision to support Bassey Albert.
