The scheduled meeting between the state’s SSG Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel and the leadership of Uyo Senatorial District Elders forum failed to hold yesterday amidst full assurances by both parties that the event will hold. A source who was billed to attend the meeting told our reporter that Udom Emmanuel was unavoidably out of town on the instructions of the Governor and as a result of that the meeting had to be postponed till further notice. A new date has not yet been communicated to the parties concerned, THE INK learnt yesterday.
But checks by this newspaper reveal that the SSG must have deliberately decided to stay away from the meeting as he was not out of town but was in his office. The SSG who had on Sunday worshipped at Qua Iboe Church, Atabong was in his office even as late as almost half past six pm when this reporter left the Government House yesterday.
