Ibesikpo Asutan student’s get Caretaker Committee, pass vote of confidence in Ekpe James

A new Caretaker Committee has been in stalled to take charge of the affairs of the Federated Ibesikpo Asutan Students Association, FIASA. The Caretaker Committee in a release endorsed by the Council Chairman and made available to our Newsroom include,  RAPHAEL EMMANUEL OKON (UNIUYO) CHAIRMAN),      ELIZABETH VICTOR ESSIEN (UNICAL) SECRETARY, MFONISO LUKE (UNIMAID) MEMBER, ANEIFIOK STEPHEN BEN (UYOCITY), and MARY INYANG EDEM (HEALTHEC).      
           
While Constituting the Committee, Ibesikpo Asutan Council Chairman, Apostle Ekpe James, charged the new leadership of FIASA to display the highest sense of duty, patriotism and discipline in leading the students body. Emphasizing that, there is no room for truancy, unnecessary radicalism and activism, Hon. James promised to run an open door policy and be accessible to FIASA leadership so that, the interests of students and their welfare which are of paramount importance to his administration are considered and addressed.


Apostle Ekpe James restated his determination to sustain the special grants given to students of Ibesikpo Asutan origin who are doing professional courses as Medicine, Law and Accounting, adding that some core science and technology related courses are soon to receive attention in the same direction. He warned the students against engaging in cultism and other anti social activities, calling for them to remain focused on their studies, hardworking and continue to support the Government of Chief Dr Godswill Obot Akpabio, who he said has done well for the State in general and Ibesikpo Asutan in particular.

While responding in his acceptance speech, the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Comrade Raphael Okon, thanked the students for the confidence reposed in him and members of the committee, pleding not to fail their high expectations. Comrade Okon commended the Ibesikpo Asutan Council Chair for what he said is his consistent and passionate approach to issues related to FIASA, harping that, the students  body has never had it so good under any Chairman of the Council. He pledged to work well with the Chairman to achieve the progress and stability needed to make the Council area develop and called on all students of Ibesikpo Asutaqn to reciprocate the gesture of Ekpe James by giving him total loyalty and support for his future political aspiration.

Earlier, the student body passed a vote of Confidence in the chairman and strongly condemned the purported move in the council by some councillors, allegedly goaded by some external forces to move against the Chairman, as they called for peace in the Council.
