Anger in Oro over attack on Robinson Uwak

Anger in Oro over attack on Robinson Uwak
It has been discovered through the grapevine that enemies of the progress of Oro Nation have put spanners in the works to paint in bad light the many successes recorded by the member representing Oron Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.

No sooner than Hon. Robinson Edet Uwak ended his constituency briefing over three weeks ago has forces seeking to wrestle his seat in the National Assembly in 2015 turned their blackmail searchlight on the sagacious legislator alleging that he brought in the Speaker of the House of Reps, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, who came as a special guest of honour as a subterfuge of his plan to turn Oro nation into an APC enclave.

This Paper learnt that the persons plotting the onslaught have concluded plans to misinform the public by feeding wrong signals through the media to colour their lies against the national legislator, Robinson Uwak, being not comfortable perhaps with his impressive scorecard and achievements in the period of less than two years he has been in the National Assembly.

The “evil politicians” who one of the supporters of Uwak told this reporter were not seeking to empower, encourage and contribute to the meaningful uplift of the Oro people but rather were seeking to pull down their able and courageous representative in the House of Reps, leaked to this Paper that they were plotting to awash the local and national tabloids with unfounded media report that Uwak’s Constituency briefing was sponsored by the APC  government to embarrass the PDP and whittle down the Party’s relevance in Oro nation and Akwa Ibom State.

The source who did not want to be named in this report for fear of being attacked by those he called “disgruntled elements” seeking Uwak’s office in 2015 said that he was wondering why a good person is never appreciated most times by those who should do so.  He re-echoed that Hon. Uwak at Oron  Sports Stadium on Friday April 11, 2014  during his Constituency briefing/commissioning of empowerment scheme in which the Speaker of the House of Representatives graced the occasion,  30 tricycles known as keke, 100 wheel chairs, 32 block moulding machines, 60 grinding machines and 30 sewing machines were given to beneficiaries as well as cheques [for various sums of money] for micro credit  donated to 800 women beneficiaries by Hon. Robinson Uwak, and commissioned by the House of Reps Speaker.

He said Hon. Uwak has in less than two years in the House of Reps sponsored five life-touching Bills and over twenty Motions for the benefit of the people of Oro nation, Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria, and wondered what indices would be used to measure a performing representative at any level.

Speaking angrily to our reporter, Uwak’s supporter from Mbo local government area who preferred being called Friday said he was worried that instead of supporting Hon. Uwak  or waiting to wrestle his office at the primaries and general election, politicians who have nothing to offer in Oro nation and in the state have decided to tread the path of dishonor by plotting to smear the national legislator with such “dirt” he said he does not deserve.

He called on the innocent public to discard such spurious, uncouth publication and unfounded lies, assuming such evil plans of unserious politicians who he said have nothing to offer, are let out of the bag in the future.

Meanwhile, Mr Friday said he was thankful to Hon. Robinson Uwak for his empowerment scheme which he said has touched many lives in Oro nation and the 51 ICT graduates sponsored by him, whose lives he claimed would  not be the same again when the skills and knowledge gained by them is applied in their daily endeavors.

He charged Hon Uwak not to be daunted by the evil machinations of the disgruntled and gullible politicians who have not conquered the House of Assembly in terms of performance, seeking to discredit his reputable,  creditable and impressive performance, especially the oil producing status he fought and got for Oro nation through his Motion in 2012.

Mr Friday called on Uwak to continue in his good works and discard the activities of attention-seeking jobless politicians, while calling on the people of Oro nation to look before they leap in 2015 and give power to a man who will not run away with it and get quarantined in Abuja hotels for four years.
