Etim Ekpo Ward Eight adopts Akpabio for Senate

The people of Etim Ekpo Ward 8, in Etim Ekpo local government area, have adopted Governor Godswill Akpabio as their candidate for the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District seat, in next year’s election.

Operating under the aegis of Political Foundation Ward 8, the people, in a motion, moved during their general meeting, by the PDP Youth Leader in the area, Mr. Udosen Monday and seconded by a Party Chapter Officer, Mr. Nsikan Ekanem, said their support and loyalty to the Governor, was in recognition of his developmental strides in the State.

At the event, which was attended by more than 200 youths and village youth leaders, the Chairman of the group, Mr. Ezekiel Nwankwo, said they were proud of Chief Akpabio, whom he described as a tested and trusted leader par excellence, who has transformed Akwa Ibom to a destination of choice in Africa.

Mr. Nwankwo, who is also the Coordinator of Akwa Ibom Consolidation  Alliance, said apart from providing free, compulsory and qualitative education for children, the Governor has also created an enabling environment for quality teaching and learning, through the provision of basic amenities in schools across the State.

While scoring Chief Akpabio high in the areas of infrastructure, health, community development, agriculture, and human capital empowerment, he said the people of Etim Ekpo will forever remain grateful to him, for appointing one of their illustrious sons, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem, as Commissioner for Special Duties.

The Chairman emphasised that Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District needs a dependable ally like Governor Akpabio, whom he believed will serve as a strong voice for the people at the Upper Chamber.
Mr. Nwankwo also gave kudos to Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem and his Information and Communications counterpart, Mr Aniekan Umanah, for their efforts and contributions to the uncommon transformation programme of the present administration, in addition to their support to the party.

Also speaking, the Party Ward Chairman, Mr. Aniebiet Eduo while describing Chief Akpabio as “a golden fish who has no hiding place”, promised to mobilize support for the success of the Governor and the Peoples Democratic Party at the polls.

He praised the political leader of Ward 8, Mr. Udeme Eduo for ensuring unity and peace among members of the party.
