State APC Chair boasts: We will take over Govt. House by 2015

The Chairman of the state All Progressive Congress Dr. Amadu Attai says the party is committed to internal Democracy and that he will do all within his powers to ensure that he unites all warring factions of the party.

He stated this during a press conference which was held yesterday at the Party’s secretariat along Atiku Abubakar way in Uyo. Atai in his press text, a copy which was made available to THE INK commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for registering APC and also observed that from the way the party was being received in the state the people Akwa Ibom state are ready for a change. He said, we in Akwa Ibom state commend the Independent National Electoral Commission for registering this great party and Akwa Ibomites for the warm embrace of this agent of change. From the membership registration exercise conducted in the state, it is very obvious that Akwa Ibomites want change and the confidence they repose in our great party as the driver of that change process cannot be over emphasized.

On the outcome of the just concluded congress of the party which was adjudged as having been hijacked by Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, the party chairman noted in his release that on Saturday 26th April, 2014, the party concluded yet another phase of structuring with the conduct of the congresses which he described as peaceful, transparent and harmonious and added that the party Exco had just concluded her first exco meeting were matters affecting it were extensively discussed, deliberated upon and resolutions taken to address them.

Speaking on how he intends to manage the party, Attai explained that he acknowledges the huge responsibility ahead of him which is principally to unite the party and harmonize various interests within its fold in the best of Akwa Ibom state and Nigeria preparatory to the 2015 general elections. He expressed appreciation to the members of the party for the confidence they reposed on them by electing them and promised that he will ensure that the exco serves the interest of members of the party. He boasted that the Party is ready to take over the seat of Government in the state from the PDP led by Godswill Akpabio.

He said, “let us state the commitment and preparedness of our great party to take over the affairs of government in Akwa Ibom State in 2015. There is no gain stressing the fact that the PDP led Government of His Excellency, Governor Godswill Akpabio has done nothing to check the escalating and frightening rate of unemployment and poverty in Akwa Ibom state. The same is true of Social services and insecurity. There is capital flight in Akwa Ibom State and we shall not allow Akwa Ibomites to be fooled by a so called uncommon transformation which is not close to being commensurate to our fiscal earnings as a state. This is where our great party will come to the rescue.”

The APC boss however called on Akwa Ibomites with ambition of service to avail themselves of the open space that APC  is providing and assured all of a level playing field ahead of the 2015 general elections.
