Udom donates Sewing Machines to Fashion outfit

The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Rt. Hon. Victor Antai, on behalf of Governor Udom Emmanuel, presented five sewing machines to five young fashion designers featured at the just concluded Uyo Fashion Forward 3.0. 

In his remarks, the Commissioner said that the machines will aid the up-and-coming designers further their trade and enterprise in line with the Dakaada philosophy of his Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel. 

Rt. Hon. Antai expressed delight at the creativity imbued in the collections of the featured designers, saying that the fashion exhibition  was also in tandem with the Amazing Akwa Ibom campaign of the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Culture and Tourism. 

He commended Mr. Ubong Ekanem of Kardynal Kommunikationz for coming up with such a novel initiative and promised to that his ministry will ensure that the next edition of the event shall be bigger and better hoping that the machines donated by government will spur up the designers to become the very best in their field of endeavor, thereby employing labour and lifting the name of the state subsequently.

Uyo Fashion Forward provides a physical platform that will gradually reposition fashion as a useful tool for culture, commerce and creativity in Uyo, the state capital of Akwa Ibom. This year’s edition, being the third , featured 15 outstanding designers, 50  models and other creative hands in the Nigerian fashion and affiliated industries.
