The wife of the paramount Ruler of Eket Local Government Area, Obongawan Mandu ECD Abia has charged the women of Eket and Akwa Ibom State within and outside the state to keep supporting the current administration led by Governor Udom Emmanuel to fulfill in his campaign promises as well as better the lots of women and Children.
Obongawan Mandu Abia made this known while interacting with newsmen shortly after His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel commissioned Eket-Ibeno road by Marina junction in Eket on Wednesday.
Her Majesty opined that with the commissioning of Eket-Ibeno road, the Government has reduced the suffering of the market women plying the road on daily bases as well as boost economic activities of the area.
She appealed to Nigerians resident in Akwa Ibom State to join hand in building Akwa Ibom project; noting that the State belongs to all.
She commended the women for standing by Governor Udom Emmanuel and his dear wife, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel for the two years in office and prayed that the supporting spirit of the women keep increasing.
Her majesty urged parents to encourage their Children to further their studies in higher institutions of learning; stressing that the educated ones stand a better chance in the future.
She thanked the governor for approving funds to improve the status of College of Education, Afaha Nsit and revealed that the institution has signed the outstanding certificates for students.
