Nsit Ibom PDP partners Princess Goodness Okon on free medical outreach

It was all smiles for the people of Nsit Ibom Local Government Area yesterday as a prominent daughter of the area, Princess Goodness Okon partnered with the Peoples Democratic Party in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area to provide free medical services to over 100 people of the Local Government Area.

Apart from the free medical outreach, the medical team also counselled the participants on how best to live healthy in other to avoid unnecessary illnesses.

Speaking to journalists during the programme, Princess Okon said she was motivated to embark on the project because of her passion for the less privileged and plight of her people. She added that the free medical outreach was not new to her.

“We have been doing this in other places, last time we did it at the council Secretariat here in Nsit Ibom, though those ones were general treatment, but today’s own is just for hypertensive and diabetic patients. I am part of the system and a stakeholder in Society for action against Stroke and Diabetes. So as one of the stakeholders I decided to bring them in because we have been partnering to do other at places, I had to equally do same with my people. That is why I had to go and inform the chapter Chairman.

Immediately I brought up the idea he accepted and provided the hall at the party secretariat for us to carry out the programme”.

She promised that as long as God gives her the enablement she will continue to extend a helping hand to her people at all times.

Also speaking, the Chapter Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Nsit Ibom Chapter, RT. Hon. Nsikak Ikpe commended Princess Okon for the gesture and prayed God’s blessings upon her and her team. He used the occasion to urge all Nsit Ibom people to continue in their support for the Governor Deacon Udom Emmanuel, saying that the state Governor has succeeded in fulfilling the promises he made to Akwa Ibom people in 2015.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with our reporter commended Princess Okon whom they described as worthy daughter of Nsit Ibom for the love, and promised to always remember her in their prayers. They also thanked the Chapter Chairman of the party for partnering with the organization to bring succor to his people.
