The transition committee Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area Lady Ekaette Usip has commended the Governor of Akwa Ibom State Deacon Udom Emmanuel for nominating a prominent son of Mkpat Enin Barr Jerry Akpan as the Board Chairman of Ethical and Chairman, Ethical and Attitudinal Reorientation Commission in the State.
She said “the entire people of Mkpat Enin are extremely happy for the confidence bestowed upon them by the governor of Akwa Ibom State. This is what we have been looking for, this particular appointment has not only reaffirmed that the governor truly holds Mkpat Enin in high esteem but will also help attract development to Mkpat Enin”.
The Transition Committee Chairman promised the Governor that Barr. Jerry Akpan when finally confirmed by the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly will bring his wealth of experience to the table. “Of course, when the House finally confirms the appointment, he will bring his experience in public service to bear, so there is no question like if he will deliver. We know the stock he is made of”.
The Council Boss pledged the continuous support of Mkpat Enin people to the administration of Deacon Udom even beyond 2019. “Mkpat Enin is PDP and our only project is to ensure that the governor completes his first term and also return to complete his second term.
The appointment of Barr Jerry Akpan was announced yesterday on the floor of the Akwa Ibom State and was referred to the House on Judiciary, Justice, Human Right and Public Petitions for further actions.
