BY VICTOR UFOT

The governor of Akwa Ibom State Deacon Gabriel Emmanuel has been lauded by Mr. Eric Ekwere for the construction of roads and other life touching projects he has embarked upon in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area.

Mr. Ekwere took to his official facebook page to applaud the governor for the commissioning of the 5.0km, Ikot Usop-Ikot Edeghe- Ikot Ekpuk road the and many other projects which his administration has initiated and completed in just two years.

He said “sometime in 2014, during his consultations to intimate Mkpat Enin LGA of his ambition to be the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel made a vow to my boss, the then Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Noble Lady Valerie Ebe after his convoy got stuck in a swampy section of the road leading to mma Ebe’s house. In his words, “mma, if God gives me the opportunity to serve as governor, I will make sure your community get this road done”.

The former supervisor in Mkpat Enin commended the governor for being a man of his words and described him as a promise keeper. “Few months after he assumed office as Governor, precisely 17 months ago, he was in Mkpat Enin to flag off the construction of a 5.0km Ikot Usop-Ikot Edeghe- Ikot Ekpuk road with a 30m span bridge”.

He added that Mkpat Enin people will continue to support the governor for the next six years.

He also expressed gratitude to the governor for appointing Barr. Jerry Akpan as the Chairman Ethical and Attitudinal Reorientation Commission and said that he is confident that Barr. Akpan will perform creditably in his new capacity as Chairman of the Commission.

Mr. Ekwere who has served Mkpat Enin Local Government Area as a supervisor thanked the governor for carrying the Local Government Area in his plans.
