Eket Senatorial District remains very united behind Udom Emmanuel -Ekong Sampson

The tenure of Governor Udom Emmanuel has been described as the game of soccer in which the first and second halves must be played to complete a match.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Legislative Affairs and Water Resources, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Ekong Sampson presented the analysis at the Eket Senatorial District Town Hall Meeting organized by the Directorate of Marketing and Brand Management, at the Council Hall of MkpatEnin Local Government Area.

Barrister Ekong Sampson said 2019 will only mark the end of the first half, while the second will follow immediately from then to 2023. He said the people of area have been challenged by the massive support and confidence expressed by the people of Uyo and IkotEkpene Senatorial Districts for the Udom Emmanuel administration and towards the 8-year match.

The MkpatEnin born political juggernaut speaking of the people of Eket Senatorial District said, “believe in good things, we believe in progress, we believe in the advancement of our people”. He reassured the people of Akwa Ibom State that EketSenatorial district remains very united behind Governor Udom Emmanuel.

The Special Adviser urged the people to express their support for their dear Governor by going all out to get registered and obtain their voter’s card, then ultimately come out to the poling units to return Governor Udom Emmanuel, whom he describedas a man of God and a man of the people, come 2019. He also used the forum to sensitize the people on the importance of enrolling for the National ID Card and said no one should be left out in the two exercises.

He encouraged the people not to be disturbed about stage managed activities that may pass for defections or looks like defections from the party. Ekong Sampson stated emphatically that the real defections are about to occur as so many quality people, according to him, are already tired of where they have been and are moving over to the PDP in no time.

He commended the Marketing and Banding Directorate of the Governor’s Office for a job well done, in creating a platform to galvanize the interest of the people of the State in support of the Governor.

He reiterated his position that the Udom Emmanuel football match has to play for 8 years. He said 2019 will only mark the half-time of the match which must resume again in the same year and play till 2023.

This position he kept reechoing to the several youth groups who rallied around him after the event, chanting the fond by which he is known amongst his people, Onomkpoinam is PDP, MkpatEnin is for PDP.
