Ukanafun Lawmaker rolls out empowerment blueprint
The Member represent ing Ukanafun State Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Deacon Otobong Jonathan Akpan has reiterated his earlier resolve to empower the youths of his constituency as well as represent the area effectively on the floor of the house, saying it is in view of justifying his primary assignment.

Hon. Otobong Akpan said this in a chat with journalists in his office after his successful inauguration as Chairman, Projects Monitoring, Evaluation and Implementation of the 6th Assembly, recently.

The erudite lawmaker who used the medium to express his committee’s readiness to ensuring that every project embark upon in the state is properly monitored and timely executed, pointed out that his representation will ensure that educational empowerment, employment of graduates and harmonious relationship with elders remain his top priorities. 

He thanked speaker Aniekan Uko for finding him fit to chair the committee, and pledged to report the progresses and recommendations of the committee to the house accordingly. According to him “I want to first of all appreciate God Almighty for making it possible for the inauguration to take place today. I also want to also extend the same gesture to the Honourable Speaker for deeming it fit for me to chair the committee on Projects Monitoring, Evaluation and Implementation.


“The committee is a large committee, it cut across so many ministries in the state. With God on my side, coupled with the efforts of my committee’s members, we will carry out our responsibilities successfully and report same to the house as well as deliver dividends of democracy to Akwa Ibom people,” he added.

The soft spoken lawmaker also used the medium to commend the state governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for his prudent financial management of the state especially the recent conversion of 64.5billion naira commercial banks loans to federal government bond amongst other policies aimed at industrializing the state.
