A’Ibom Seaport: Tremendous impact on the Economy - Abia

The clan Head, Idua clan in Eket Local Government Area, His Royal Highness Obong E. C. D Abia has said that the Akwa Ibom deep seaport has tremendous impact on the economy, Akwa Ibom People and the Nigerians at large. The Royal Father gave this assertion in an interview last weekend in his palace at Eket. He added that the port is better, deeper than any seaport in Gulf of Guinea .

Obong Abia maintained that the Ibom seaport will spring up industries, imports, exports business, grains, silos, mills and over one million people will be gainfullyemploy. Noting that other African Countries economy will be revive.
He commended the immediate past Governor of the State and the Senate minority leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio for repositioning the Traditional Institution in the State. He also called on the Traditional Rulers not to influence government policies in favour of certain people and advocate for equality of all.
Abia decried the alarming rate of insecurity like kidnappings, robbery and other social vices in the area as it has rise beyound imaginable level and sued for synergy between the security agencies in the state to come to their aid.
The Royal Father lauded the Transition Committee Chairman of Eket local government area Hon. Frank Achibong for hosting sanitation summit. Noting that the poor sanitation situation is attributed to bad road network, poor waste management control among other environmental hazards.
He reiterated that every households should have a waste bin adding that refuge should be evacuate once in a week at a very low fee for maintenance of logistics.
