The Commissioner for Works, Mr Ephraim Inyang has said Gov. Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom had flag off 81kilometres of roads at different Local Government Areas in the state. Inyang told journalists at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Shalom Model Parish in Eket, Akwa Ibom. He said that Gov. Emmanuel had achieved a lot within his 100 days in office.
He said that the flag off of roads was in fulfillment of his campaign promises to sustain and provide critical infrastructure for the benefit of the people of Akwa Ibom.
“The State Government have done so much in 100 days in Akwa Ibom, It is on record that in 100 days he has done 81km of roads in different local governments across the state,’’ he said.
He noted that more roads would be flag off in Ndon Uyo roads, Etinan, constructions of Bridge in Obot Akara and dualisation of roads from Akwa Ibom Airport to Oron Local Government Area on Sept. 22.
The Commissioner said that State Government had awarded road contracts across the state, adding that the construction was on-going.
Inyang listed the achievement of the Gov. Emmanuel to include grand breaking of four industries to include LED factory, Fertilizer Company, peacock Paint Industries and automobile industry in the state.
He described the flagging off roads across the state as “incredible’’, saying that Gov. Emmanuel was complimenting its wealth creation and industrialisation agenda with continuous infrastructure development.
“He has done almost all facet of life. I think that the central issue here is that God is with our Governor, guiding him and providing the resources for him to do what he is doing,’’ Inyang said.
He said that the paucity of funds was bane of the administration due to the falling oil prices in the country.
“If the governor had more funds I am sure Akwa Ibom will jump on the streets celebrating. If he is doing what he is doing currently with available funds?
“It means that if oil price was at the roof top as it used to be, so much would have been achieved in a short period of time,’’ he said.
