As mixed feelings permeates the entire Political atmosphere in Akwa Ibom State over the out-come of the Legal battle at the tribunal in Abuja, instituted by the All progressive Congress (A.P.C.) to unseat Governor Udom Emmanuel of the People Democratic Party (P.D.P.), the People of Esit Eket has said it is an exercise in futility, ruling out a possible re-run. In a Stake holders meeting held on Friday September 25, 2015 at Udo Edukere Memorial Hall at the Council Secretariat, the People, after hours of deliberation, passed a vote of Confidence on Governor Udom Emmanuel for justifying the mandate given him, within a hundred days in office.

Moving a motion for the adoption, the member representing Esit Eket-Ibeno State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Usoro Akpanusoh cited the Peacock Paint Industry in Etinan and many more landmark achievement of the Governor as a justification of the vote of Confidence passed on the State Chief executive.
The motion was seconded by Chief Ikemesit Ikot, a community leader and unanimously adopted by the over 3000 major Stakeholders present.
In his speech, Hon. Iniobong Robson Nnamso, Chairman Esit Eket Transition Committee called on the people to fine-tune their mind and attitude towards the DAKKADA Initiative of Udom’s administration.
He commended the Governor for his sincerity in industrializing the State, citing the armoured vehicle manufacturing company and the paint industry as a sincere approach to the yearning of people.
Hon. Nnamso described Governor Udom Emmanuel as God sent, adding that Esit Eket was the first Local Government Area in the State to declare support for the Governor and will continue to do so throughout his eight years as Governor of the State.
Ruling out a possible governorship re-run in Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Isaiah Abia, one of the star witnesses for the PDP in the tribunal said that the opposition party at the stake level were using the social media to misinform people that they have a good case.
“There will be no re-run because the people of the State voted massively for Udom Emmanuel, because electorates in the three Senatorial districts saw the equity in shifting power to Eket-Senatorial district”.
“APC could not prove in the tribunal that there was no election in the State as claimed in their petition, they resorted to propaganda and fallacies on facebook and other portals in the social media”, Pastor Isaiah Abia said.
The convener of the meeting and political leader of Esit Eket, Elder Benjamin Udobia called on the people to remain loyal and patient with the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
He thanked the people for having voted massively for the P.D.P. in all the elections during the general election and assured that the Governor will bring development to the area in no distance time.
He stressed on the need for the people to embrace the DAKAADA philosophy of Udom’s administration and urged them to join the bandwagon.
Elder Udobia was full of praise for the Governor who he said has paid arrears of pension owed pensioners in the State for the past 10 years.
Pst. Victor Isangedighe, a former Executive Chairman of the council spoke, saying “In view of the enormous financial support before, during and after the 2015 governorship election, Esit Eket has nothing to show now that all administrative machinery of government has been constituted.
According to him, of the three sensitive committees set up by the administration namely, the Ibaka Deep Seaport Implementation Committee, the Direct Foreign Investment Committee etc, Esit Eket has no representation.
He said, most worrisome,  of the 23 – man state executive council, no indigene of Esit Eket has been included in the Committee. He thereby appealed to the Governor to please carry Esit Eket people along in his administration. He reminded the Governor that AKWA PALM needs attention. He called on the people of Esit Eket to join hands with the leaders to ensure that Udom Emmanuel succeeds.
Isangedighe who spoke amidst applause said the Governor will do well by appointing an indigene of the area into his cabinet. He also said that Esit Eket people will be pleased to have her indigenes appointed as the chairman of a grade 1 board to assuage the tensed political nerves of the stakeholders.
Notably among the stakeholders present included, Hon. Iniobong Robson Nnamso, Chairman Esit Eket Transition Committee, Hon. Usoro Akpanusoh, Dr. Ini Adiakpan, Hon. Ibanga Ettang, Hon. Victor Bassey Isangadighe, Obongawan Grace Etuk, Obong Enobong Asubop, Hon, Imo Udobia, Hon. Eddy Etangnkanga-the Ag. Party Chairman, Prince Edet Inyang Bassey and Elder Felix Udonawe among others.
They all spoke and commended Governor Emmanuel saying the people of Esit Eket will stand with the Governor and help his administration succeed.
