Speaking during the general assembly of the party, held at the primary school, Mbiatok Itam, the chapter Chairman, Mr Victor Okon informed the people that the party is much alive and active, and always ready to support governor Emmanuel and other party’s policies in the area.
The PDP chapter chairman urged the party faithful in Itu to be steadfast and obedient to the party because even if election is held 20 times in Akwa Ibom, PDP will still win.
He informed the people that Udom’s government is a responsible one, and will settle all those that work for success of the party during last election.
The state commissioner of finance, Mr Akan Okon assured the people of the area that there will be no re-run election in the state, because opposition does not have any evidence to cancel the election which the people popularly voted for PDP.
Okon, who is from Itu, reminded his people that Udom Emmanuel’s administration mean well for them, going by the important positions he has given to the people of the area, and the projects he has sited there already.
He solicited for the continuous supports and loyalty to the party and it’s leadership, because, Itu and Akwa Ibom state are PDP strong hold.
The local government transition committee, Hon. Okon Etim Okon, and the member representing Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal constituency, Dr. Henry Archibong said the meeting was to appreciate the people of Itu for standing by PDP during the last election and voted all it’s candidates to the positions of authority, explaining that the party has laudable programmes for the people.
They urged the people to shun antics of opposition to lure them into their fold, because PDP has come to stay in Itu and Akwa Ibom State.
They commended governor Udom Emmanuel for his superlative achievements in just 100 days in office, adding Akwa Ibom made the best choice by voting Mr Udom Emmanuel as their governor.
The meeting was attended by prominent leaders of PDP in Itu, including the former Secretary to the state government, Obongawan Grace Ekong, former house assembly member for Itu, Barr. Kennedy Ekong, Managing Director of Base Engineering, Engr. Bassey Ekanem among others.
