School Proprietor wants government to assist private schools students

A School Proprietor in the state, Pastor  Anietie Nnanah has called on the new administration in the state to assist private schools students who are writing their final SS3 examination by paying their examination fees.

Pastor Nnanah who is the Proprietor, Anietie Christian Academy, Ikot Obong, Afaha Obong in Abak Local Government Area, made the appeal during the Children’s Day Celebration at Otoro Development Centre, Abiaokpo in Abak recently.

The school proprietor commended the immediate past administration in the state for introducing the free and compulsory education policy, stressing that it would be a thing of joy if private schools students are being assisted in the payment of the SS3 examination fees since they are also indigene of Akwa Ibom State.

Pastor, Nnanah explained that the vision behind establishing his school is to eradicate illiteracy in the rural area and develop a total child. “My vision is to eradicate illiteracy in the rural areas. And to develop a ‘total child’. By this I mean, any child that is coming to the school must be developed intellectually socially, physically, spiritually and academically”, the Proprietor stated.


He noted that the school established in 1988 has performed optimally in all their examinations. “Since we got the approval by the Akwa Ibom State Ministry to Education twenty-six years ago, the school cannot be found wanting in any public examination such as WAEC, NECO and JAMB”, Pastor Nnanah explained.

The proprietor pointed out that the school with staff strength of 22 (teaching and non-teaching) however has some challenges. He listed some of the challenges facing the school to include; inadequate funds, lack of parameter fence and complete laboratory.

Speaking separately, the School Principal, Mr. Inemesit Sunday Okon and the Games Master, Mr. Godwin M. Udoh commended the proprietor for his vision in establishing the school, stressing that it has provided qualitative education to children.
