Ibesikpo Asutan Journalists Forum congratulate AKHA Speaker

Ibesikpo Asutan Journalists Forum has sent a congratulatory message to the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Uko on his election as the Speaker of the 6th Assembly. They also congratulated one of their own, Mr. Mbosowo Essien on his appointment as the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Speaker.

The group, which is made up of professional journalists from Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area expressed their joy on the emergence of Hon. Aniekan Uko as the member representing Ibesikpo Asutan and his subsequent election by the members of the sixth Assembly as the speaker. They thanked God making an indigene of Ibesikpo Asutan to be the Speaker of the House for the first time.

In a statement released to the press and signed by Mr. Nsikak Ikrok and Mr. Abasifreke Effiong, president and secretary of the group respectively, the group has pledged to work with the Chief Press Secretary to the speaker, Mr. Mbosowo Essien, to promote the activities of the Speaker throughout his stay in the state Assembly. They however cautioned media professionals to always be objective in their reportage.

The statement to the press reads in part “we the members of Ibesikpo Asutan Journalists Forum congratulate you on your emergence as speaker of the sixth Assembly. We know that your emergence as the Speaker is an act of God as it is rare to see a first-timer becomes Speaker in any Assembly (both at the state and federal level). 

We also thank you for appointing one of our own, Mr. Mbosowo Essien, as your Chief Press Secretary. And we are convinced that the God who lifted you to that exalted position will not abandon you there. We pledge to work with you and to promote all your activities both as the speaker and as member representing us. May God be with you!”
