Etinan member begins empowerment
The member representing Etinan State constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Barr Aniefiok Dennis yesterday made true to his campaign promises as he donated three sets of computer to students of St. Theresa’s secondary School, Edemekpat in Etinan Local Government Area.

Dennis while presenting the computers to the Principal of the School said, he is doing this in response to the demand made by the school during his campaigns. He said when the Principal of the School made a request for a set of Computer, he was moved and also understanding that the world is going digital, he had to step forward and then do the needful.

Dennis who is also the Deputy Leader of the 6th Assembly enjoined the Principal, staff and students of the school to make judicious use of the computer sets and also to ensure that they operate the instruments to specification. He hinted that the bane of studies of the computer is always the inability of the person custodying the gadget to allow those who are supposed to use it access. He called on the Principal of the School and the Science teacher to ensure that the students have first-hand knowledge of the workings and operations of the computer.

He reminded them that the world has since become a global village and hence the need for the students of the college to be abreast with the knowledge of the computer. He reiterated his determination to serve the people of Etinan effectively.

Speaking while responding, the obviously excited Principal of the school Mrs. Martin Etuk commended the Deputy leader for his kind gesture describing it as noble and commendable. She promised to take very good care of the computer sets and to ensure that students of the school are able to use the facility to its best and fullest. She described Barr Aniefiok Dennis as a lawmaker that is worth his onions and a good representative of the people. She stressed that the students of the school will not forget Dennis and maintained further that when the history of the digitalism of St. Theresa’s secondary School, Edemekpat will be written, that Barr Dennis’s name will appear first among equals.

Amongst those who accompanied Barr Dennis to the presentation were his wife, the vice chairman of Etinan LGA Hon Pius Emmanuel, some legislators and a section of supporters who trouped to St. Theresa’s School on getting information that the Deputy leader was visiting.
