Leader Hausa Community supports Buhari’s anti corruption crusade

Alhaji Hassan Sadauki, Leader Hausa Community in Akwa Ibom has supported President Mohammadu Buhari’s Anti Corruption crusade to sanitize the system. Sadauki gave the nod in an interview with the newsmen in Uyo. He said that the moves by the president to reduce the level of corruption in the society were a right step in the right direction. He said that Buhari’s anti corruption campaign would help to sanitize and improve the economy of the country.

“If the system is sanitised, there will be improvement in the culture of transparency and I believe the economy will be on the right track.’’
Saduaki said that money collected from corrupt leaders and politicians should be used to build more infrastructures in the country.
He described President of National Assembly’s trial, Mr Bukola Saraki as “Unfortunate’’, saying that probe of the Senate President was not to witch hunt him but to serve as deterrent to others
“Saraki should not be scared of corruption charges. If he knows that his hands are clean.
“He should not entertain fears and he should go and stand the trail that will give him credibility to his status, if he is not guilty.
“If he is found wanting, let him dance to the music and the law will take its course,’’ Saduaki said.
He expressed the optimism that President Buhari’s Administration would put an end to corruption in the country.
“It will be a lesson to others, this administration is not business as usual but to stop the vices of corrupt practices,
Saduaki lamented that Nigerians praise corrupt leaders instead of criticizing corrupt politicians in the country.
“Some set of politicians will squander money rather to be criticized, some people will be hailing him because he has money to give to whoever praises him,’’ he said.
He advised Muslim faithful to be law abiding citizens during and after Eld-el-Fitre, urged the people of the state to be peaceful and co-exist with one another.
He however, lamented the falling prices of oil price in the international oil market, saying that it has caused untold hardship to the people during the Sallah period.
He commended the recent introduction of the treasury single accounts system which he noted would help in blocking leakages in the revenue profile of government.
“Being something that has zero tolerance to corruption, he is trying to block leakages in the country.
“He is trying to make sure that those lapses are eradicated and Nigerians should be patient with the Buhari’s administration,’’ he said.
The Hausa Leader advocated life imprisonment for corrupt politicians, saying that life imprisonment would serve as a measure to reduce corrupt practices in the country.
“When once you are guilty of corruption, you should be sentenced to life imprisonment. Government should not spare any corrupt politicians in order to serve as deterrent to others,’’ he said.
He added that corrupt politicians should be relieved of their positions.
